Wished we had more time to stay in this lovely hotel. We had Room 103 (corner room) on the 2nd floor, which they call the first floor. Our room, overlooking the garden and the chapel tower, was the biggest room we've stayed in on this Germany trip - had a huge bed, wardrobe, desk, chairs, sofa, and coffee table. The... More

I couldn't believe this place when we got here. I was sure we were at the wrong place. So unexpectedly fantastic. So much to see and do on a one night stay. Dinner was top notch, as was everything about the hotel. Room was large, bathroom was the size of most other hotel rooms in Europe. This place is a... More

Kloster Holzen has a great history. The facilities were very well kept, the staff were very attentive and the room was huge. The shower with a view of the garden was over the top. The restaurant is top notch too. Fantastic spot to get away from it all.

A room in this hotel is from the beginning two small rooms, everyone for a monk or a nun, and then the rooms have been merged together, which has resulted in a small bedroom and a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable, however the bed sheet was too small to cover the mattress the whole night. No refrigerator nor safety... More

First things first, know that this is a converted monastery which still has resident nuns and a functioning pilgrim hospitality role (at a discounted rate for certified pilgrims). In this vein, this hotel is overtly, in-your-face religious... but it's not as if that isn't obvious when you look at their website. Crucifixes everywhere, the works. If this is not your... More

The hotel is proposes rooms in a renovated monastery just 5 km of the romantic road in a very quiet location. Rooms are modern and very clean. The restaurant proposes a nice menu that offers some welcome change after the schnitzel and wurst diet. Breakfast buffet is also very nice with some honey and jam from the monastery and surrounding... More

Excellent hotel in a historic Convent. Lovely location away from the noise of the world, lots of tranquillity. Service and breakfast were outstanding, and the restaurant was very good, too. There is really nothing to complain about.

We spent 3 weeks traveling and unfortunately only one night at this property. It was the most unique place of over 8 places we stayed. Chris the bartender and history buff showed us some amazing places. How about a library over 300 years old? And a STUNNING church to match. He was the most memorable person that served us in... The bar staff were helpful and the gin and tonic an experience (not sure what measures they use!!). The reception staff spoke excellent English and were attentive too. The evening meal was nothing... This is a very old religious order residence that has been turned into a beautiful hotel and get-away...it is simply beautiful and the grounds surrounding the hotel are very scenic as well. The restaurant has a Michelin award hanging on the door, and we had lunch there - it was spectacular - and the ceiling in the restaurant is very... More
