We stayed at La Tannerie last Thursday through to this Monday. Upon arriving we were met by Liz and Jeremy who are fabulously warm and friendly people. As we were house hunting they provided us with invaluable information and introduced us to their friends at the local restaurant, who made us feel very at home and this all being on...

Found La Tannerie in a French proprty guide and so glad we did. We spent 6 wks there from mid Sept and loved it. A bit too cool to enjoy the pool but looked very inviting. Great location literally 5 mins walk from all amenities and a great little village life. Having toured France for 3 months Chalais is one...

We visited in August, for a family wedding. We were made to feel very welcome by Liz and Jeremy. The accommodation, pool, and gardens are excellent. We found Chalais a very relaxing place, all with in easy reach other wonderful places to visit. Looking forward to our next visit!! Thanks again Liz, Jeremy and Pete. Steve, Kate and Henry.

La Tannerie is situated in the heart of Chalais which is fantastic for walking to the supermarket and more importantly the small selection of restaurants/bars in town. The gites are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Even providing washing up liquid, rubbish bags, recycling bags, and tea towels (not provided by all gites!) Free wifi was provided (a god send for...

We have just finished our second stay at La Tannerie and again it was a great place to stay! The owners, Liz and Jeremy, welcomed us with a short visit over coffee and tea then took us to our gite where they had provided a nice bottle of wine, cookies and all of the essentials for a breakfast the next...

We stayed in the main house in August 2012. So often when you arrive in a house in France, there isn't even any salt or pepper. Liz and Jeremy's house is very different, ther were good knives, all sorts of herbs and spices and a welcome bundle of essential foods, including wine! Liz and Jeremy organised a fantastic evening bbq...

La Tannerie was a completely unexpected delight. We turned into the driveway not knowing what to expect, then came through a curtain of weeping willow to find the sort of French house everyone wishes they could own. Liz, Jeremy and Peter went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome, encouraging drinks on the terrace and inviting...

I find myself looking at some of the other reviews and echoing mostly the positive and just a coupleof slightly negative comments. The Gite we stayed in is probably looking just a little tired downstairs and maybe could have been slightly cleaner. But the double bed was comfortable and it looked like it had been spruced up recently, and the...

We rented the main house last year with our three year old twins and our 15 year old. Liz and Jeremy were great hosts and were very helpful - even picking a friend up from Angouleme airport at short notice. The house was clean and comfortable and well furnished with a good sized kitchen, comfortable en-suite bedrooms and an enviable...

Firstly I must say. Many, Many Thanks. To Liz and Jeremy for their great hospitality and lovely place they have here. We had been travelling back home from the south of France and stopped in Chalais tired with nowhere to stay. Luckily we came across La Tannerie, after driving most of the day(late afternoon now) we pulled up outside where...
