Rooms are not the best of your life, but work in case you just want to sleep. They are in front of the sea. What I wouldn’t recommend is the restaurant: 1h waiting time for your order and they don’t care to close the kitchen (without notice) although you are still with your starters. Definitely, not a good choice.

I’ve booked with boat trip, meals and snorkeling and i found they have the cheapest among all. They served the food and the qty given is a lot too! I had a good time with fam here. The water consider shallow and i am not worry when my children snorkeling here. They had clean beach and quite peacefull too. Twice visit and still satisfy for budget staying. Will definitely come back here for longer trip and i like quite and calming beach.

The chalet is cozy and comfortable but the air conditioning was pretty much blowing out warm air. It wasn't terribly unbearable but definitely quite uncomfortable. There was no potable water bottles provided and I think this basic gesture should be a given. Or at least a heating kettle to boil our own water because you can get quite dehydrated by the beach. Perhaps I can suggest bringing along some mineral water bottles. Anyway, the boat rides to the snorkeling areas was the highlight of the trip and pretty much made up for the AC and water issues. Food was okay and tasty but not buffet style, perhaps due to the new normal SOP? Samudra was very thorough organizing the trip and this should be commended. Overall, a pleasant trip and a great escape from the city to enjoy nature and the sea and the sun and sealife! …

Heaven on earth and the most kind staff and management . Situated by the Bay- the Palm trees swaying and the life going in relaxing slow motion with a breathtaking nature all around- who could ask for anything more ?

Room 214 was very clean, bed is enough comfy as well the pillows and bed linen. Bathroom is a bit small and already outdated. Water pressure is not that strong but enough decent to take a shower. Only one power point in the room and enough lights. Didn’t try at all the WiFi as my Digi mobile signal was quite good there. Restaurant is fine, take a bit of time as people are enjoying slow life. My main disappointment was the beach which is not that great particularly at low tide and quite plenty of rocks and small corals. Nothing to compare with Redang island which is my fav’ Definitely recommend it for couple of nights or more...

Please don't stay here. My stay with family was horrible. No value for money. Food, staff behaviour worst. Don't stay in this resort. Take my word. I visited almost all the places in this country as I am working here in MNC. This one is pathetic.

Good location on besar island, the beach is not so good but you can easily take a taxi boat to get other places. Friendly staff and good food, no alcol available but you can find in walking distance. Free wifi is available only in the hall. Even if we booked a family room with AC, I was disappointed in the quality of the room, poor service (broken forniture), poor tidiness (dirty blankets).

We took a 4D3N package with 2 snorkelling trips. Food came with great variety and were tasty. Room condition (Sea View Double Room) could be improved but AC and hot water worked perfectly well; wifi is accessible in the common dining area. Good location not too far from the jetty, alcohol and outside food stalls were within walking distance. Most importantly, staff were all friendly and helpful, snorkelling instructors were reassuring and accommodating especially since it was our first snorkelling experience. We were thus able to enjoy snorkelling and spot fishes, sea turtles, corals and more. Thanks to the Samudra team for making it an enjoyable trip. :)

We stayed at the Samudra Beach Chalet with a Seaview Chalet at the beginning of June 2019 for 2 weeks in which I can only describe the accommodation as eye opening! The accommodation is extremely tired but serviceable, A/C and shower works fine, bed ok but don’t look at the mattress! if this was elsewhere there would be no way I would pay for this sub standard accommodation, however, we wasn’t here for the mod cons and luxury so we got by perfectly well. If you need to change towels or require toilet rolls etc you need to go to the reception where they will happily change your room towels etc. Bed linen was changed weekly. WiFi in the accommodation was hit and miss but worked perfectly well and quick whilst sitting in the dining area. The service from the waiters and waitress was perfect, also was the food, plenty of choice and really nice. No alcohol on these premises but only 20m away you can get a beer if required from Alu Alu Divers. Laundry if required is usually on a 12 hour turn round from our experience. Our stay on the Perhentian was absolutely perfect, if you can see past the accommodation then you will have no problems, I’m guessing if the accommodation was renovated the prices would probably ‘sky rocket’? A good holiday and I would stay here again.…

We stayed in the room with fan and it was good, better than we had expected. The powerhouse of the place if the hotel restaurant sitting place...right on the beach and food is good as well. Better than most of the beach resorts on this small island and light on pocket. Service was good also but the hotel manager is not very humble but a bit too straightforward that doesn't go well with all the tourists. Overall a nice place and well in budget for a couple of days and the room being the most basic had good amenities and cleanliness. Must stay.
