We stayed at T Lodge Family room which had 2 Queen Beds, end June when we had to stay for the night before departing to Perhentian Island by Boat. Since we booked with Mimpi Resort, we were recommended by their friendly staff to stay at T Lodge.

The Good: - Convenient as Mimpi's office and a Roti Canai Coffeeshop was right below
There was ample parking space for our car
There is a mosque and many eateries nearby
Apparently, we had a safe night despite minimal safety features provided by the hotel
Greeted by friendly staff during checki in at 5pm
No frills reception
Aircon in room was cold
Provided bath towels and bottled water.

The Bad:
Very minimal safety feature like a normal lock for the room door
No security guard guarding reception or motel area
Pungent smell from the toilet sewerage
Toilet pipes rusty
Flickering toilet lights
Dirty Bedsheets with moldy spots
Dusty floor
Family room was small without windows
Had a scary vibe but we had a safe night stay
Only 1 pathetic piece of small bar soap for hands so please bring your own soap/shampoo
No Mini fridge

Even though we felt unsafe, we still had a good night's sleep. I would still recommend to just stay for the night if you are checking in at Mimpi Resort the next morning due to Convenience sake. Do walk around the area to explore the mosque and eateries. The roti chanai shop below T Lodge was good and had a variety of breakfast menu such as Nasi Lemak and Toast bread.

It's not that far to the jetty. U can book ur boat ride with d Seven Seas which is next door. Cost about Rm70. They also arrange shuttle van to d airport in Kota Bharu, rm25 only. Locals need to pay rm5 for d marine conservation fee & another rm5 for d tax at d jetty.

I have made my searches and I guess this is the best choice if you need to stay near to the Besut Jetty! It is approximately less than 5mins walk to the jetty. We were a bit early and since check in time was 3PM, they allowed us to store our luggage at the micro-mini reception while we had coffee and some lunch at their coffeeshop about one shophouse away. Food was good, by the way!

If you have lots of luggage like us, be prepared to climb a fleet of stairs to the rooms. And no, there is no lift and no assistance either. Room was very very basic, pretty clean. Basically this is not for the fussy and not recommended for long time stay. I am glad I was there for only 1 night.

By the way there are lots of souvenir shops, minimarts and coffeeshops around. Very vibrant and lively surroundings.

The room is so dusty making me question whether they wash the linen or not. The worst part is the smell that come from the toilet, every time you turn on the water faucet and it flow to the drain. The evaporation of the stinky smell is horrible & disgusting. I would never recommended anyone to book this . NEVER.

It is such a shame considering the place is like a jackpot for tourist since its very close by to the jetty. Eventhou the price it a bargain, the management doesnt seems to take any action regarding all the complained wrote.

I found T'Lodge on Aagoda, and not anywhere else back in March - in fact I think it has only been open since the start of the year. All the reviews of other hotels in Kuala Besut hadn't filled me with great hope, so I thought I'd try this place - despite there being just one review - and I'm glad I did!
It is located about 5 minutes from the jetty at Kuala Besut on the square with the taxi rank. The lady on the desk didn't have great english, but enough to get by (although she had no idea where the nearest cash point is - (it's about a 10 minute walk - don't get a cab like we did, it's not worth it)).
We arrived late on a train and got a cab from Tanah Merah to Kuala Besut and dashed out for something to eat as everywhere was closing. The Chinese place diagonally opposite was great - they'd practically closed by the time we arrived, but made sure we could get some food, by leaving their own meals and serving us - really cheap, very tasty and served beer - just want we needed after 10 hours on a train.
The room had two enormous (unnecessarily so) beds, and a spotless bathroom, as well as a flat screen tv, aircon and fan. For 80 RM it seemed pretty reasonable for it's location and the quality of the room.
The only down side was breakfast in the cafe next door in the morning - don't bother! Although not linked to T'Lodge as far as I can tell, I think all the westerners eat there as it's handy. Go to the jetty, or indeed anywhere else - coffee was horrible, as was the breakfast - and it was pricey too!

This hotel is the best you can find in Kuala Besut. This is not the place where you want to stay for two weeks. But if you have to wait for the ferry and want a nice clean room were you can have a good night sleep the T-logde is the best option.
Nice clean rooms for a reasonable price whit a clean bathroom.

As we are taking the early morning boat to Perhentian, we decided to spend 1 night in Kuala Besut. This is the only motel looks presentable and new in Kuala Besut. We stayed in a family room (2 double beds) as we reached there in evening and that is the only room available.
The location is great, just outside the Jetty. It is a basic motel without breakfast, good enough to spend 1 night before transit to Perhentian. Clean room and friendly staff. There are plenty of restaurants on the street, do not have to worry about breakfast and dinner. Parking lots on the street are available but quite limited especially super peak season. Earlier booking for room during peak season as the motel always fully booked. WIFI and heater are available in the room. The room rate is reasonable. But very weak in soundprooft as you can be disturbed by those travellers arrived in the early morning (4 a.m I think) which gathered on the street. By the way, did I mentioned that there is a great sunrise scene from the back of the building?

Nice cozy room that is well lit and very clean with 2 large beds. You get hot shower, aircon, and cable TV for 80 Malaysian Ringgit a night. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. As my friends an I werent able to get a taxi to Jerteh town, the owner offered to ferry us in his own car for free. I dont think you can get this kind of customer service elsewhere. Excellent customer service so highly recommended.

We booked 2 rooms & stayed a night here before we head over to Perhentian the next morning which is just a walking distance to the jetty. Hotel did some refurbishment on the rooms (i.e.: fresh coat of paint, updated furnitures, new flooring & the beds).

I would assume this might be among the best or conveniently located to the jetty.
But it didn't live up the standard of a hotel
-Bed linens were stained
-Wood laminated flooring were rotting or broken
-Ants or bugs were around the floor area
-Cleanliness like dust still visible on the table, inside wardrobe
-Toilet has an odour, might be due to old piping

Even while we did'nt enjoy the room but we were compensated by the friendliness of their staffs and their strategically location.
