Big modern quality hotel just 50m, and clearly visible, from the station. Clean, comfortable rooms. Rooftop bar (with infinity swimming pool!). Breakfast, but no dinners - the very popular ADA fish restaurant, 50m down the street, is open until 17h30. Buses to Kenting and the National Park stop nearby. An extraordinary temple/monastery just north of the hotel.

Fangliao Hotel better known as 枋客文旅枋寮 is an excellent hotel and value for money for a spacious twin room with 2 double beds as it is within 5 minutes walk and room came with delicious breakfast. Shower, toilet and wash basin are separated and are of good finishing. Met 5 staff and they delivered sincere and pleasant service. Self operated coin launderette machines are available. In Taiwan, dryers often present a problem with properly dried clothes. In Fangliao Hotel, the machines are of good quality and heavy duty. Clothes were thoroughly dried. Enjoy a swim at the infinity pool and a pool bar offering very reasonable prices for drinks and snacks. Near bus station to Pingtung & Kenting. Lots of food in the area.

Claimed it is designed by an architect but I really can’t feel it. Fangliao is a very small fishing town not many tourists coming here. So this hotel is likely the only one that you can expect to have an averaged quality service and room. We booked a luxury sea view room with a big bath tub near by the window but it is difficult to walk in and out.

One of the best hotels on our 3 week round Island travels.
Just 5 minute stroll from railway station, the Fangliao Hotel is new, modern, with very clean and spacious rooms. Bathroom is separated into 3 - toilet, shower and basin/vanity.
Note: hotel is in a minor street. Low traffic noise.
We had a sea view room with small balcony.
Staff are friendly and very helpful with tips on taking buses. English was spoken by only one of the staffers we met (1 of 4).
Breakfast was good. Mostly Asia cuisine.
There's a small supermarket next door plus a fabulous cafe (85°) on the corner. This cafe has good expresso coffee with a wide selection of sweet treats. Fabulous way to end a day's trekking.
The buses to Kenting (south) or Kaohsuing (north) around the corner from hotel - 3 minutes. These bus stops are clearly marked with seating available for waiting passengers.
The Rooftop infiniti pool and bar area on the 7th floor provide excellent views. Casual and inviting. Seems bar provides cocktails and a few beers. No wine.
Fanglioa is a vibrant Taiwan township - not a tiny village. We stayed here as it was close to Kenting (.5 hour by bus) and on the train line.

/Experience/ I was attracted by the infinity swimming pool of this hotel many years ago. In a small town like Fangliao, it is really magical to have such a hotel. I discovered a while ago that it is actually very close to the station, so I immediately found a day when the price was cheaper and booked it.
When staying here, you can ride the bicycles provided by the hotel and explore the store according to the local delicacies introduced by the branch. What I recommend the most is Feng’a Pancake’s scallion pancake. Be sure to add some chili oil, and then buy a cup of rock car round’s low-sweetness watermelon milk to go with it. A trip to Fangliao is really chill!
