We stayed here because we would like to go to Luye Highland to try the hot balloons or other flying activities. The room is huge with its own hot spring tub with very reasonable price. Not many guests check Ed in, so it’s very comfortable to relax and enjoy our stay!

The hotel has hardly no information in English. It makes it difficult to do any activities, including the spa on 7 floor. Should be improved since the hotel at the moment is number 1 at the moment in Taitung.
The rooms were nice one they were new, but it's lacking maintenance and good care.

At first I couldn't find this on Tripadvisor as the hotel was listed under its Chinese name (Lu Ming), although on its website and brochures it is Luminous Hot Spring Resort & Spa. No matter.

The more important fact that this was a great resort to unwind for a good R & R. It is in the countryside of the East Rift Valley, and about 20-25 minutes' drive from Taitung itself. This made for spacious surroundings, with the view from the back of the hotel facing the mountains.

The hotel had a wide driveway with ample parking. The lobby area also had a high ceiling with a spacious appearance. While we were there, there was also a man from one of the aboriginal tribes demonstrating his expertise at leaf-folding, teaching how to create crickets and other objects. The cricket was especially life-like, given the natural colour of the leaf.

The rooms had a unique layout, with the bathroom and the wash area being away from the door/corridor. This was to take advantage of the view, so it was possible lie in the onsen and look out at the mountains. This also allowed the shower & onsen area to be separate from both the WC and the sink; useful when sharing the room. Having the hot spring tub in the room made it easy to soak whenever you wanted to.

On the ground floor to the left of the lobby was a large recreational area, with a table-tennis table and bats, arcade games and basketball hoop shooting, a library with a reading area. This was great as there isn't much immediately around the hotel, so this was a good diversion after dinner. We didn't use the spa.

Breakfast at their restaurant was good with many tables well-spaced out, so that it didn't feel crowded at all. There was also a noodle station where one could cook your own noodles and choose your combination of ingredients and garnishes, making your own individual dish. There was a good variety of both Western and Chinese dishes as well.

Very dissapointing stay.
Breakfastbuffet has no western choises and the Chinese dishes are of average quality. Dinnerbuffet was ok and you can get softdrinks included in price.
Swimmingpool is heated by thermal water. Pool is closed between 10 and 15.30 every day so it’s not a place for children. The pool is also completely closed every tuesday for cleaning. They actually empty the pool.
Only one employee speaks english.
Hot air balloon experience is really overpriced. You get 5-10 minutes inside the balloon while the balloon is still fixed to the ground. You’ll pay 1,100 TWD for the experience.
Overall I find that the hotel doesn’t deserve 4 Stars and I would not recommend staying!

We stayed in this hotel for one night. The hotel is in the country side with beautiful surroundings. This hotel is meant for relaxing and enjoying hot spring bath. The room is very spacious with two king beds. We did not have to go to the outdoor hot spring pool, as each room has its own hot spring tub. On the other hand, the toilet cubicle is small; one hardlly has room to move around. Another minor point is the lack of storage cabinets. Our group of 24 was served dinner in a separate room, and the dinner was the best we have had during our 1-week tour in Taiwan. There is a library well stocked with mainly Chinese books and magazines, and guests can take books back to their room to read. Guests can use the eight desktop computers in the library free of charge. There is a nightly 40-minute cultural show, featuring songs and dances of the minority Gao Shan (High Mountain) tribe. On that chilly night, the show was performed indoor. It was an enjoyable stay in the hotel.

This is quite unlike the other larger hotels down the road and a lot more basic but the service is very very friendly and the pool, which over looks the spectacular forest and nature reserve is really very special.

Rooms a little on the basic side but the pool area is all you could hope for while the hearty breakfast is just what you need before heading off into the forest. The pool is (usually) red hot and as it's built right on the edge of the property that drops offs 40 feet to the road it is more or less an infinity pool that commands a wionderful view of the reserve.

We has high expectations before we checkin this hotel. It’s a beautiful location and very convenient for us to go see hot balloon. However, checkin process took forever when we arrive late. Dinner got canceled without notification, one of the two rooms we book smell like pee, swimming pool filled with warm water when it’s hot summer and full of moss, mentioning a zoo but actually only two smelly tired cows and geese....countless missed points and charge so high!
Won’t come again and won’t recommend anyone!

My family stayed at the hotel during the holidays of Lunar New Year. The price is higher than normal yet the quality worse. Too many tourists flooded into the hotel and they didn't control the quantity of guests, that made itself not really relaxing.

The water is so polluted, one won't be able to see bottom of pool. It is apparent that management don't know anything about pool maintenance, or don't bother with spending time and money keeping it to estabished international quality standards for swimming pool water. It's shocking. In the interest of public health and hygiene, the pool should be shut down if they are incapable of managing it.

I went to this resort on a family trip and we booked our tickets and hotels with EZ Travel of Taiwan. We chose the eastern Taiwan hot springs itinerary and EZ Travel just sent us our tickets and hotel info and we were on our own, which I loved because we had more freedom and didn't have to rush or wait for other tourists. We took the train to Lu Yeh, Taitung, and we got picked up by the hotel. When we got into our rooms, we were blown away by the space, the view, the in-room hot spring tub and the cleanliness of the room. You can easily fit 5 people in the double queen suite because there are two large beds and an extra single bed. My parents got a two storey loft with the bedroom upstairs. Their washroom has glass doors and windows that open up to the balcony so one can bathe overlooking the mountains and tree line of Taitung. We also went to the public bath on the top floor but just keep in mind that no bathing suits allowed. The outdoor pool requires bathing suits and swim caps. They play pool side movies at night. You can also borrow bikes from the hotel for a ride on a countryside trail connected to the hotel. They also have paid tours around the area. We did the bee tour for 450NT, it was ok, not quite worth the money unless you really like honey then you can buy quality honey at the bee farm for a good
price. That tour also gives you a free jar of honey. On top of the awesome hot spring experience this hotel can bring you, they also offer delicious and healthy foods at their restaurants. Anyways, I was very impressed with this hotel, the customer service, the room, the hot springs and the surrounding nature. It exceeded my expectations for a resort in the rural areas of Taitung.
