Fu Kang hotel's rooms are pretty much text book three star Chinese style hotel rooms to the letter, from the old plastic light control panel to the boxy tv, tile shower etc. It's clean, big bed, actually good sized room. It's an older building, could use a facelift, new carpet, etc. For the money, it's certainly acceptable.
Breakfast was surprisingly good, with some aboriginal style Taiwanese cooking. Better than expected. The service was top notch, front desk very friendly and accomodating. Quick and responsive.
Def a good stay if you're on budget and don't need frills. Not the best looking place but it does the job, it's clean enough, price is right.

Plain, simple and effective, pretty sums up this little hotel. Nothing stands out making someone wanting to come here... pretty much a "come if your tour guide takes you" situation is the only reason you'll find yourself here. Everything is clean(ish) and usable. Wifi very accessible and airconditioning kept everything cool. However, prepare yourself for the uncomfortable beds by spending prior nights sleeping on a warm concrete pavement. With that in mind, enjoy the bare necessities then leave and erase the blandness from memory. Enjoy :)

I'm a bit surprised by the high ratings. The hotel seemed like a glorfied YMCA to me. The service was friendly, but the rooms were a bit dated. There was a musky smell in the room and the bathroom was a bit dirty. So why a glorified YMCA? The rooms were huge (dorm-like) and there was a urinal in the bathroom along with two sinks (clearly meant to be a shared bathroom).
