Wonderful staying experience in Sheraton Taitung~ As Marriott Elite member, Sheraton Taitung is definitely priority for you while visiting Taitung. Several things for sharing as I experienced during the stay: 1. The hotel is decorated by elegant style with museum and bookstore scene. You are definitely feel having vacation while you step in hotel beginning. 2. The suite room is located in 19th floor which is the top of hotel. It was clean and and peaceful. 3. The bath area is combined with washing room, and the whole room is wide not narrow. 4. The hot water cooker is helpful and safety. You won’t feel nervous to see how it works or not. 5. I really enjoy to stay at 3rd floor executive club lounge. It offers nice beverage and quite place. People acts so accommodation and hospitality alway. 6. The sauna is clean and wide. I will recommend businessmen using it after work hard whole. 7. The first floor Alihi restaurant offers plenty kind of food and delicious breakfast.
Overall it was great stay experience in Sheraton Taitung Hotel. Definitely will visit back soon.

This hotel is located in the night market area of Taitung (Thursdays - Saturdays). There is a Carrefour next to it and you won’t run out of options with the Alihi breakfast. Plenty of restaurants are within walkable distance from the hotel. The nightly rate for Sheraton is higher compare to other hotels in the area but for the values and quality provided, it’s definitely well worth it. Most of the staffs I’ve encountered have been very professional and nice - especially for the staffs from executive lounge. I have also spoke with Jason who understand what we need more as travelers from overseas. Overall, it’s a great 5 stars experience that I never expect to get from the eastern part of Taiwan. It’s a bit of a surprise and the hotel will definitely be one of my top choices in the area for my future visits.

This is my third time stay with Sheraton Taitung, I'm using point to purchase the nights and we have stayed for 5 nights. Our first 3 nights was standard room, it's long weekend, hotel has some many visitors, especially the afternoon that we have arrived. The standard room is compact but comfortable, it has smaller window, but the view is phenomenal, we able to see the ocean and sunrise. At 3rd night, I have asked for upgrade to suite, and I'm very happy to have positive response, then we have 4th and 5th night stay at same room that we were stayed before.
Some recommendation for Sheraton Taitung. 1. Higher floor water pressure still lower 2. rm 1917 still have shower pipe clogged issue (two time stays has same problem)

The reception is excellent and well maintained. The hotel is located in a congested market with numerous fruits and vegetable shops.
The rooms are just average with dingy wash rooms. Room lighting is poor and the wash basin is right in the open between the gallery and the beds. Seems this is the only hotel globally with such an interesting but pathetic room setup. You can't wash your hands without disturbing others in the room. Poor room air conditioning.
Buffet breakfast is extremely lavish but only for non vegetarian. Very limited options for vegan/vegetarian.

Some background: - I am Marriott Platinum Elite - Leisure travel for 3 nights - 2 adults
Few issues I have encountered:
1. No hot water 2. No bikes available the whole afternoon after hours (hotel promotes itself as having bikes available for guests) 3. No seats at lounge at all, the lounge fits 18 people, but way above that amount of people in the lounge with many kids running around. We were asked to wait 30 minutes in order to enter the lounge. 4. They advise that the lounge is only for 18 years and above, but many kids were in the lounge. Hotel doesn’t care about policy at all.

4/3入住，下午3點多到飯店辦理check in，前台說房間還在整理中，一直等到5點才給我房卡，從沒遇過這麼離譜的大飯店。晚上跟前台反應，也只得到制式化的回應說今天客人比較多，很抱歉，會跟上級反應。以後不會考慮再入住。 I arrived the hotel around PM15:30 by the shuttle bus, but the reception said the room was not ready at that time. I got the room key until PM17:00. It’s so terrible. At night, I told the reception that it was unacceptable to get the room key lately. However, the reception just said she was sorry about that and will report to the manager. I won’t consider to stay at this hotel in the future.

I stayed here for two night from 26-28JAN2020 and it was a pretty good stay. The room was modern enough, but I really did not care for the way the bathroom was designed. There was not a full partition between the toilet and the room. It was very strange and did not provide sufficient privacy. But other than that, the stay went great. Every member of the staff was outstanding. The lounge offerings were a bit above average for a Sheraton. The big breakfast on the first floor offered tons of great food options, although it was a bit of a mad house during Chinese New Year. But if you are staying in Taitung, this is possibly your best option.

If you are a aviation geek, you will love this hotel. Try to request a higher floor room facing NE for a stunning view of the Air Force base and the Pacific Ocean. My kid who just had the Top Gun movie was amazed by the fighter jet training exercises which happened right in front of his eyes. Great breakfast selection with local cuisines. The lack of bathtub in the room? Well, you may call it a flaw. Overall a decent experience and would love to come back again.

At check-in we upgraded to a suite with club lounge access. The club lounge was not the one in the hotel photos, but on a lower floor with a very small buffet. The club lounge didn't notice our upgrade and didn't want to let us in at first and then charged us for the drinks. The Cloub lounge is definitely not worth it and doesn't deserve the name. The best thing about the club lounge was the excellent pianist. The balcony of our suite was closed for security reasons. The suite is pleasantly large with two bathrooms and an open bathtub. The hotel is certainly the most luxurious in Taitung, but falls well short of other hotels we have stayed at in Taiwan, such as the Crown Plaza in Tainan. However, we would choose the Sheraton again in Taitung.

第一印象的接待櫃檯就令人失望，我們因為環島，訂了許多旅宿，而這個是用Marriott APP訂的，給了confirmation #說找不到；給身分證說不是用這個證件登記的，告知英文姓名拼音，也說沒有；最後將手機上的訊息交給接待人員，找到了，誰知道是怎麼回事。只知道說「姓」不對；因為中文姓氏是maiden last name, 而英文是 husband’s last name, maybe the true reason is not my reservation, but the language barrier! Otherwise the concierge, information desk and the room service are all friendly and it’s a nice hotel. Compare with my other 4, 5 stars hotels experiences, I can’t agree with the 5 star rating review though.
