The Riviera Hotel Taipei garners praise for its cleanliness, with visitors frequently noting the hotel's well-kept facilities. The staff's professionalism and warmth, alongside an efficient concierge service, contribute to the hotel's positive service reviews. While the atmosphere is often described as great, featuring large and comfortable rooms, some guests feel the value is diminished by limited breakfast seating and dated room decor.
Its prime location is a hit among guests for city exploration. Despite some calls for updates, the amenities, including a variety of breakfast options, are generally well-received.

Detailed Reviews
Riviera hotel is situated at a good location closed to park, museum and restaurants and a small night market for locals. The hotel is clean, feels small due to low ceiling. Room is small but very well designed since it provided all guest’s needs such as iron and ironing board, hot coffee and tea, and even disinfecting laundry soap! Staff is nice and provided good customer services. We stayed at this hotel during the CoVid-19 period where flights were cancelled and/or modified due to the crisis. The hotel was practically empty with not many guests but yet management was not flexible when we asked for a check-out extension. Had to pay for late check-out and felt that the hotel should accommodate guests a bit due to the crisis!

Everything about facilities, room, staff, restaurant was great. Outdoor Roof top area and was incredible and exercise facilities were small but great.
Negatives was 7th floor lounge area had temperature set daily to sauna like conditions. Other negative experience was when local relatives dropped by hotel to visit our family. We were very respectful and using the guest area off the main lobby. One hotel staff did not appear pleased we were using the area, and came over and immediately put away the complementary coffee and cookies...not sure that was necessary as we were not interested at all. Hotel staff also appeared agitated and said something to me (which I did not understand). Attitude of staff was very different as soon as they found out we were all eating lunch in the hotel restaurant. I don’t want to give the impression that this was the attitude of the entire staff. Perhaps a little additional training and reminder to certain staff members would go a long way. Otherwise other staff were very hospitable and helpful, particularly the front desk and concierge, and the rest staff

👉Excellent location: Most of the four-star hotels in downtown Taipei are built next to the main roads, and there is no scenery to speak of. The reason why I chose the Ouhua Hotel is that I saw on the map that it has an excellent location, facing two large parks, the Flora Expo Park Art Park, and diagonally opposite the Flora Expo Park Xinsheng Park and Yuanshan Park, and the famous Yuanshan Hotel can be seen in the distance. There is no other hotel in the city center with so many large parks nearby. In addition, there are many small attractions within walking distance of the hotel, such as the Qingguang Business District and the Shuangcheng Street Night Market, which is not very touristy.
👉Low-key luxury: As soon as you walk into the Ouhua Hotel, you will feel like you are going back in time. Although it is a renovated 30-year-old hotel, the French designer has exquisitely retained the classic style of the luxury hotel in the 1970s, while adding a combination of Chinese and Western elements, creating a warm, low-key and exquisite sense of luxury. Many details show the designer's intentions, which are really unique. Whether it is the choice of decorative paintings 🖼️, or the boldly colored fabric sofas 🛋️, as well as the super high-backed bamboo chairs 🪑, MCM-style wooden furniture, etc., careful observation will reveal many surprising highlights. Travelers who don't like the stereotyped business style of chain hotels are highly recommended to come to the Ouhua Hotel to experience the ingenuity of French designers.
👉Detailed service:
I have seen travelers on the Internet praising the Ouhua's guest rooms for being spotless, and even the air outlets are not black. This time I experienced it myself, and I was really moved by the meticulous cleanliness. There was no trace of mold in the gaps between the tiles in the bathroom. It was really more meticulous than many five-star hotels. In addition, although there are not many choices for breakfast 🥯🧈, everything is carefully selected: for example, the yolk of the boiled eggs 🥚 is different from what I usually eat, and it can be seen that the quality is excellent. The salad leaves 🥬 are also of the same size and placed in the same direction. It is simply a detail control!
👉Finally, I have to recommend the roof top gym 👟and garden⛲️, you can find the pictures yourself, I didn’t take good pictures, so I won’t upload them, anyway, it is a small and exquisite place where people can feel relaxed and happy in the bustling city. I hope that the Ouhua Hotel will continue to maintain its low-key exquisiteness, and its careful management will definitely be seen by more tourists❤️!

I stayed at the Riviera for two nights on a solo trip.
The location is about a 10-minute walk from Zhongshan Elementary School, but the weather was good so it didn't bother me that much. Once I arrived, it was very convenient as the bicycle rental station or the hotel was right in front of me.
There was a Marubayashi Lu Rou Fan restaurant a few minutes walk away, and a Huang Kee Lu Rou Fan restaurant a few minutes by bicycle, and a Japanese-style coin laundry about the same distance, so it was very convenient.
The room was on the top floor, so it was quiet at night and I didn't notice any airplane or car noise. In the morning, I could hear the TV next door. The carpet was thick so I couldn't hear any footsteps at all. The amenities were sufficient, and I was grateful that the water was replenished every day. I was happy to receive a tea set.
The front desk staff and doorman were very friendly and welcoming. I didn't eat there, but I would like to do so next time. On the way back, it was a 155 yuan taxi ride to the airport. I had a lot of luggage so it was a great help.

From the parking lot, lobby, restaurant to room cleaning, every staff member is very serious and enthusiastic. You can feel the care and attentiveness of the hotel service. The meals are also delicious. I have a small suggestion. You can put a plate in the breakfast buffet. Scrambled eggs or fried poached eggs, because it takes a long time to cook them freshly, so you can save time by adding them directly.
The buildings have a consistent European and American style. Although they are a bit old, they are generally well maintained. It is very close to Yuanshan and Zhongshan Elementary School stations and has convenient transportation. There are also convenience stores, restaurants, parks, art galleries, etc. nearby. It is quite convenient.
It's worth it to book a room that includes breakfast and parking space, but parking spaces are limited, so it's safer to arrive early if necessary. This is a hotel that I would like to stay at again if I have the chance.

The bedroom in the hotel was very large and comfortable with nice furnishings. It is perhaps a minor point but there was only 1 teabag, 1 coffee bag in room so only one of us could have a drink. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the food we sampled was good. However in the Mediterranean restaurant the steaks were very expensive.
One thing that could be improved is that they should have a courtesy room where you could have a shower and freshen up for guests whose flights leaves late at night. This is customary in most hotels in the world I have stayed at. Wi-fi was good. Hotel shuttle a good experience.

My husband (American) and I (Taiwanese) have been staying with Riviera for the last 18 years and my husband however had been staying here for over 20 years whenever he goes to Taipei for business trip from USA. Due to Covid we were not able to travel back to Taiwan and have not been to the hotel for the last 3 years.
This time checking in (2023/2/23), we were pretty excited going back. Sure enough staffs did not fail in their excellent service and attention to details. We can feel they genuinely happy to see us return. Best of all, seeing the old staffs from bellmen, front desks staffs and waitress in the restaurant make us realize how we took it so for granted.
We truly appreciate that the owner didn't not lay off any employee and insisted on staying open during Covid even at times when there was only 1 guest in the whole hotel (told by the employees). Not only we received warm welcome, we also feel the staffs appreciate our return as they express their gratitude.
3 years alot has changed, we notice some hotels and businesses were closed in the area. Riviera seem to strive for the better. We could see they did some update to the rooms.
True, Riviera isn't as modern and/or high tech like other hotels, neither do they considered to be cheap option. However we keep coming back for the their outstanding service. Riviera had it's charm and style that represents Taiwan and the hospitality is known for. For a hotel have over 75% employees have been working there for over 15 years, it says alot about their corporate culture. We love the area that is close to a famous night market and all kinds of restaurants. It's a foodies paradise. Everyone works there genuinely care about their guests. We cannot recommend them enough.

Taipei Nordic Hotel:
A very heartfelt hotel!
The Davao Hotel is not big, it is a very quiet French-style hotel. You can see the owner's thoughts and tastes everywhere. In addition to supplying German brand shampoo and shower gel, we also carefully provide antibacterial laundry detergent, exercise mats... Organic vegetables are also served for breakfast. There are not many breakfast items, but the bread and fried beef rice are unexpectedly good! I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but this is the only one that will publish a book about the history of the hotel and surrounding places. After reading this, I felt very fond of this hotel. When walking nearby, I suddenly saw many things that I had not noticed before. I was very moved!
The DLA Piper Hotel is a very special hotel. If you don’t pay attention, you will miss it!

I stayed for a few nights, but the room was cleaned every day and I was able to spend a comfortable time in the hotel. The staff were very kind and some of them could understand Japanese, so I could stay with peace of mind. There is a popular restaurant nearby, Marubayashi Lu Rou Fan, where you can enjoy Taiwanese cuisine. There are many massage facilities within walking distance, so please try them. Next time I go to Taipei, I would like to stay at Ouhua Hotel.
I really appreciate the friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff. After staying for several nights, the room was very dry and clean, and the cleaning every day was also very polite. Marubayashi Lu Rou Fan, you can enjoy Taiwanese cuisine here. There are many massage facilities within the walking distance, so you may want to try one. There is a free parking lot in the basement. Guests can park for free. There is a professional staff at the parking lot, so you can use it at your leisure. I will come back to Taipei next time and choose this hotel. Very grateful.

No, sorry, hotel has no self serve laundry.
Hi, I am actually at the Hotel today (Sunday 15th Jan) and can answer your question.
From Taoyuan airport it is approx. 45 minutes to 1hr depending on time of day.
The Taxi cost is about NT$1,300. Suggest taking a bus from the airport into Taipei city and get of at the first stop, then take a taxi to the hotel. The Bus ride is NT$124 and the taxi ride is NT$95
Depending on where you are coming from, maybe you can get flight to SongShan airport as it is very close to this Hotel.
This is a nice and friendly hotel, you will enjoy your stay.
