The rooms in the garden are clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The bedrooms and kitchen/living room area are well laid out and the spacious bathroom has a powerful shower and large bath. Situated in a beautiful garden leading to a river and a minutes walk to the lovely traditional pub. Friendly and relaxed hosts make you feel welcome and...

This was our 4th visit to the Chequers (twice this year) and we found it to be another most relaxing visit, Debs and Ron were their usual hospitable selves, the locals in the bar as welcoming as ever and the local accordion/concertina/ folk band was in superb form, the food was the normal above average quality with service at the...

Quiet, peaceful, lots of space. Lovely, traditional pub with food and pleasant rooms in the grounds (with their own access). Excellent, full English breakfast - at a time agreed by guests and hosts. The rooms and bathrooms seem to be new and perfectly clean.

Just returned from a trip to east Suffolk mainly on a RSPB visit, we found the Chequers through searching through "trip adviser"and as before found that the reviews are honest and factual. We would like to add to the compliments that others have placed on here by saying that from arrival to departure (4 nights) we had the best service...

Although difficult to find it was so well worth it. A beautifully appointed room away from the noise of the pub with the added pleasure of wild life - rabbits, moles and birds in an idyllic setting. The food was super and the owners and staff friendly and helpful. The locals made me feel welcome and if i return to...

My wife and I went to Suffolk to a vineyard wine tour and tasting, so I looked on the 'net to find accommodation nearby and found 'The Chequers', well. what a gem, a friendly welcome and we had been placed in the self catering suite on a B&B rate, as the other rooms were full, it was spacious, spotlessly clean...

As soon as you enter, you are greeted with the warmest of welcomes. It is always a delight and a pick you up if you have had a hard days work, and someone greets with you with a smile and is polite and nice. The food is what you would call... Great pub food. Its not dress up for dinner...

“There are 3 rooms, a double, a twin & a 2 bed self catering room. All of great quality and standard I expect. All together in a peaceful spot in the garden.”

“There are only 3 rooms, we had the double. There is a twin and a family room also but our room could easily have accomodated a cot or occasional bed for a young child.”
