It was in a lovely setting Michael was very friendly but we felt the grounds were looking tired and could be improved upon. Breakfast was not available until 8.30am which can be a bit late if you have a full day's travel ahead of you. There was no fruit out with the cereal, it appears we should have requested some....

We, a family of 6, recently spent 4 nights at the Portarra Lodge. It's a bit tricky to find, but if you put Tullykyne in your sat nav, it will bring you to a road with a brown sign saying Portarra Lodge 1.5km. The owners, Michael and Joyce, were very nice and were extremely accommodating, nothing was too much trouble....

Found this place on booking . com Joyce was a helpful host giving us tips on the local Indian restaurant and drying our wet clothes after a trip to Connemara National Park . Location in the countryside, by the lake. Excellent starting point for visiting Connemara. Horses around, lovely staff, beautiful house with very spacious, warm and comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast. Rooms were clean except for the bathroom but staying only one night we didn't really care that much. Either way - recommended!

We had some difficulty finding this B&B but when we rang for directions discovered we were actually quite near it. We had to drive up a narrow country road in heavy rain but when we arrived we received a warm welcome from the owner and a cup of tea served in front of a lovely turf fire. The lodge is...

This Bed and Breakfast is located on a lake at the end of a narrow road, but the road has little traffic so is not a big problem. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We did not fish, but other guests were fishing with good luck. The Lodge has several good sized rooms with a large open lounge area...
