The first day when we arrived to hts we already knew we want to extend! The resort is located in beautiful bay just in front of surfing spot. Water is crystal blue and white sand beaches.The surrounding is just magical. Resort itself has stunning food, we stayed there for two weeks and none of the dishes repeated. Lots of Fresh veggies and fruit! The staff is really helpful and caring. Sina and Teiki (the owners) are always around making sure all the guests are happy! They have a wolf pack of 5 lovely dogs. We were taking them everyday for long walks at the beach! When it comes to surfing there are plenty of options around for both professional and begginer surfers! I was going with a surf guide to a beach break on the other site of the island and to mini hts and really enjoyed long boarding ( thank you Dani !!) On the other side my boyfriend enjoyed hts and lances left where we were going by boat. We went on amazing fishing/ spearfishing trips and my boyfriend caught the biggest fish ever! Yaaay. What we really loved is that you can do plenty of different things around, explore the island, local villages! We really miss hts and can’t wait to be back! Jo & Bogs…

Every time I think back to my 3 weeks spent at Hollow Tree’s, it feels like a dream. A distant dream of white sand beaches, lagoons with 100 shades of blue, coconut trees further than the eye can see... a true postcard-perfect picture. And of course, the most perfect wave I’ve ever surfed. All of it in the most comfortable environment you could imagine: beautiful bohemian, clean bedrooms; a private swimming pool; an Italian coffee machine; relaxing massages; the most scenic yoga deck ever, tucked in a tree overlooking the break; A-grade speedboats; adorable staff. And the food. The food! Best food I’ve ever eaten on a surf trip, hands down, even for a vegetarian like me. Hollow Tree’s really is just more than a surf resort, and it’s impressive how they pull off this high standard in such remote islands. Having been to a few surf resorts in the Mentawai, I can say Hollow Tree’s was the best one by far. Teiki, Sina and Janine, our hosts, are some of the most worldly and genuinely good-natured people I’ve ever met. They immediately made me feel home and were always so helpful, whether it was helping me with my work setup (I’m working remotely) or gently guiding me into the lineup of HT’s. Always good vibes, we shared stories and communal dinners which felt just like family. It was always my dream to come surf in these islands, and they made the dream come true. What a stay...absolute best resort we have stayed in Mentawais. The accommodation is super clean, well laid out, s relaxing and literally 5 meters from ocean shores... Accommodation: family of 4, parents had 1 x room together and 2 x kids had room together, all under the same roof. Super clean room, cool zircon and massive bathrooms...rooms are cleaned daily, towels replaced. There is a water dispenser located in the room, with icy cold water available all the time, HT also give each guest a cool drink container on arrival, to use whilst at resort and take home with you. Waves: 2-3 surfs each day, over the 10 days we were there...perfect 3-4 foot waves right in fort of you're accommodation, wake up, walk out you're door and look straight into the pumping waves...so epic!!! There is also other waves very closes by, for all skill levels....including a beach break with the clearest water i have seen in Indonesia...similar to a wave pool..so good! Resort/Crew: Very cool design of HT resort, all rooms are on the beach, facing the waves...with a private dip pool in front.The food is amazing, everyday was something different, all of a very high standard...lunch and dinner is served at a massive table, where all the guests sit together and enjoy the meal..tell stories and enjoy the company.All the staff at the resort are super cool , always happy vibes around the resort..like a big family whilst you are there. HT resort is the perfect family trip to the Mentawai islands, very easy to travel to the resort from Padang...its a postcard picture place in paradise, already planning our next rip back to HTs. Very Special Place Hollow Tree's is unique from so many perspectives. For seasoned surfers, it is a right hand legendary wave that turns consistently, right off the retreat's back yard. For those looking to get away, the remote nature of the resort is sublime in that you are truly taken off the grid while you are there. The daily communal dinning, with the retreat hosts and the handful of international guests, add so much to the time spent at Hollow Tree's. The fresh, natural food - different every day, perfectly fuelled the active surfing schedule and other daily activities managed through. It is not a Hilton or Park Hyatt resort (that is a different vacation), nor is it a surf boat charter (another different vacation), however if you are looking to get off grid, somewhere with legendary surfing, white sand beaches, aquamarine ocean, incredibly natural and diverse food, and importantly, to connect with other like minded souls looking for somewhere very special, Hollow Tree's Resort is there for you, just waiting....…

Everything about this stay was fantastic: the location, the clean and spacious rooms, the tree house, the food, the staff, the massage, the dogs and the energy! Our hosts, Teiki, Sina and Janine were loving and very attentive with all the guest, forming a family and sharing they're stories with us. If you go to Mentawai, you should definitely book this resort! One day I'll come back, for sure!

We have bee to HTS twice already and we cant wait to go back. Of course having a perfect wave right in front is unreal, but HTS is perfect for couples, friends, families and. everyone who wants to take a little break and enjoy a tropical paradise. Everything about HTs is perfect. The resort is located on a gorgeous beach in front of one of the most famous surf spots in the world. Not only it is the perfect resort for an epic surf trip, but it can also be perfect for couples and families who want to get away on a tropical island. The staff is fantastic, it feels like a family. The food is delicious. The rooms are clean. I hope to be back at Ht’s other numerous times in my life.

Everything about this resort was fabulous. Our hosts, Teiki and Sina, could not have been more helpful and hospitable. The accomodation was comfortable, clean and beautifully designed. The waves were world class and the food was magnificent. I recommend this resort without reservation.
