Really happy stay at the Station House Kilmessan with my partner and elderly parents. Surroundings are lovely and the hotel itself is homely, comfy-cozy and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was mostly lovely. The beef rib wasn't as tender as I would have liked but

We had our elderly parents (in law) out for a Sunday lunch. They are both very frail and the staff treated them with kit gloves. It was lovely to see this. We had the set lunch which was very tasty. We had turkey and ham also roast beef. The beef looked very tasty and it had a

Response from ManagementSHH, Manager at The Station House Hotel
Responded 3 weeks ago
Dear LDrogheda We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience in The Station House recently. The wedding co-ordinator you met with was Denise Slattery, one of the family who have owned and managed the hotel since it opened almost 35 years ago. Denise’s style is honest and not hard sell at all, a style that may not be for everyone. We would be delighted to have another opportunity to discuss your wedding day with you at your convenience. Please do not hesitate to contact me on suzanne@stationhousehotel.ie if you would like to do this. In respect of the food, I can categorically confirm that all our fish is fresh (not frozen), with deliveries several times per week from the same local fresh fish supplier that we have used since we opened 35 years ago. In addition I can confirm that the batter is home-made on a daily basis by our chefs. We take food quality and provenance very seriously at The Station House ensuring to use the freshest of produce with everything home-made in our kitchens. We will investigate your complaint about the brownie and do apologise for any mix-up or delay on this. For the paper towels. We actually removed the paper towel bins last year and instead replaced these with counter top drops in our toilets. Perhaps you may have missed these but hopefully you’ll agree they are far neater and cleaner than having an open top paper towel bin. Again we are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us however we hope that’s we can remedy this on your next visit. Kind regards Suzanne Slattery
