We stayed two nights in a big suite ("Oro", I think was the name of the room) with two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms. The one bathroom had a bit of an odd smell but was otherwise clean. The staff was very, very helpful and friendly and guided us to local attractions (especially about the mountains, of course). The Villa...

Stayed there for a week in May 2016, before the tourist season, where we had the house pretty much to ourselves. A gracious villa, decorated with exceptional frescoes, every nook and cranny has some lively feature: a whimsical menagerie of domestic and wild animals on the walls of the main staircase and corridors; country scenes and contemporary (early 19th c.)...

Lovely house, rooms, people, service and food! Hotel is in very small village, but its great! Good price-quality-relation. House is old, historical. Hotel flat is whole quartal. Front garden is like english. So friendly staff. Good wedding place. Very nice breakfast room.

Villa Dragonetti is a beautiful and elegant departure from the average hotel experience. It is located in a park-like setting in the small town of Paganica, near L'Aquila. The villa has a fascinating history and fantastical murals throughout , some in the guest rooms , hallways and common areas. Guest rooms are comfortable and well appointed, but manage to retain...

This is a hidden gem that located on the outskirts of the city of L'Aquila, Italy. It is family owned and operated. The old structure is steeped in history and sits within a walled compound within easy walking distance to several eating establishments. There are currently only 10 guest rooms with a modest but pleasant décor. We very much enjoyed...

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, restaurant was good too. The grounds are lovely too, very peaceful area around the pool. A lovely place to stay, it is...

Excellent hotell/villa with a very nice and helpful Signora at the check-in that unfortunately I don't remember the name of. The Signora took time to explain what we could do in the neighborhood and marked everything on a map. This was very helpful and we did everything she suggested. And our three children loved it.

The hotel we had chosen for l'Aquila was overbooked so we were sent to the Villa Dragonetti sight unseen. What a lovely turn of events. Nicoletta is an excellent innkeeper who helped us with Gran Sasso itineraries and many other details. Her kindness was just what we needed after an all night flight from the States. The hotel is magnificent...

We booked three nights at this hotel. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that it is not really a hotel, but rather a sort of convention center. They had to turn on the heat for us and we were freezing the first few hours. The lobby and restaurant (too expensive) were also unheated. Our two-year-old daughter then caught...

We booked the Dragonetti for six nights and whilst it is a historic building with some quite beautiful features I wouldn't reccomend staying here for more than two nights maximum. Niccoletta on reception was helpful as was Layla an occassional waitress but do not come here expecting service. Most of the week we had the place to ourselves so you...
