Beautiful family-run guesthouse with fab breakfast. We stayed in one of the larger garden rooms which are expensive but very well-appointed and very comfortable. They are very quiet which is good given the hotel's proximity to the busy Galle Road. There is a lovely swimming pool which is good for moonlight swims. We enjoyed the Bob Marley (!) soundtrack for...

After 10 days of travelling through Sri Lanka, staying in safari tents in the National Parks and exploring the cultural beauties of the cities of Kandy and Anaradhapura and the visit of the tea region in Ella, we were ready for some relaxation. Although our safari continued as Mirissa is the perfect spot to see the whales and even the...

Morning Star hotel is unique in the way they take care of their guests. The whole family is involved in the hotel business and they all treat you like you were a friend of the family. The rooms were really well finished with the natural polished concrete throughout. Breakfasts were very good and different everyday. The staff helped organise our whale watching...

Morning star is a family owned hotel. The whole family is lovely. I got to meet sons, daughters, uncles, and grandmother. They work very hard to make your stay just right. The decor is real nice. Lots of statues, flowers, and other items can be found on in the area. Monkeys can also be found climbing trees and walls, but...

Clean and friendly guesthouse. Ok location - short walk to beach and main strip of shops. Breakfast was delicious. Was just quite a high price considering down the road we stayed the next night for half the price, beachfront.
