We are a family of four just back from a three night trip and we really enjoyed staying at this hotel. There are some fairly sniffy reviews on this site about decor and the KFC and it has been reviewed as if it was offering itself up as a five star hotel, which it isn't. We found the hotel and...

Me and my friend have just returned to the UK from a 4 night trip to Hotel Laxnes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the staff, particularly Sean, extremely friendly and helpful. He helped to arrange our excursions even at the last minute and was really accommodating. The rooms were basic, tidy and pleasant. Just what you would need....

I selected this Hotel due to its good reviews and its location near to the major ring road. We were not disappointed, the hotel staff are very helpful and open to new ideas, indeed Shaun introduced a 'Happy Hour' from 17.00 til 18.00 whilst I was visiting. The prices of any alcohol in Iceland are so high that a 'Happy...

Nice weekend at Laxnes, great city with much nearby. The manager Sean, amazing guy who helped us so many times with trips to the city and golden circle. The room was good, clean and comfortable beds. The stuff was the best!!

We just aren't sure how this place has got such good reviews! It's 20 minutes out of town, on an odd, modern estate next to KFC! Incredibly dated, scruffy and not very welcoming at all. We barely saw the staff, and breakfast was very basic. The only positives I can offer are the backdrop (if you can see past the...

Myself and my husband have just returned having spent 4 nights at Hotel Laxnes. We were allocated room number 10, which was a good sized room with gorgeous views over the mountains. Check in was very easy and we were shown up to our room and advised of facilities available (pool table, bar, hot tub etc) breakfast was from 7-10,...

Good stay as an average hotel. We saw the northern lights from our balcony/ window which was lovely. Good value for money but wouldn't call it luxury. Sufficient breakfast to keep us going on the morning. We hired a car so convenient for us to get to places. We also used the hot tub on our last day which was...

Came for the hot tub, bar and northern lights and were sadly disappointed. It is too close to the city to see the lights, I mean it practically shares a parking lot with a KFC. The hot tub hadn't been working or used in months and the bar was not staffed with someone checking in on drinks every 30 minutes...

Hotel staff where great and Sean the hotel manager was really helpful from booking our trips to upgrading me to a room with a...

I booked five rooms at this hotel last August. Sean was very helpful in saying he would reserve the upstairs rooms facing north with the best view of the Northern Lights (should they occur), however was not there when we arrived. On our arrival last weekend I was disappointed to find that only four rooms on the first level were...
