The winter offer of dinner, bed and breakfast is really good value. Book early to get a table in the bar ... Good food and friendly people, Veggie food needs a bit more care and imagination and the piped music in the dining room is older than most of the buildings.

This is the 5th year running we've taken advantage of the winter offer at the Kirkstile although our first visit was over 30 years ago. If you want a break in a traditional Lakeland Inn with lovely beer and food then this is for you. The rooms do vary but if you ring to book, the hotel staff will help...

We live in the south Lakes and were looking for somewhere to stay so that we could explore the north lakes. The Inn is historic, comfortable, great views lovely location, and was perfect for an informal stay.

TripAdvisor is full of glowing reports about the Kirkstile Inn, the hotel visitors book contains nothing but superlatives, it has an AA 4-star rating, it figures in the Good Pub Guide. So it is hard to believe this is the same place I stayed at. Because of the superb location some of its deficiencies might be overlooked, but not the...

After a gap of 25 years we visited again with our old friends. The inn is the same in terms of its charm and welcoming atmosphere. Our rooms were comfortable, the views amazing and the food and drink delicious. We got drunk on prosecco and nostalgia, Kirkstile Inn doesn't disappoint!

We have just spent two days at this great little inn, really good food, great service, and the staff are very friendly and helpfull. We stayed in room 9which is a little annex next to inn, which was very relaxing.the inn is very near Crummock and Loweswater lakes, the scenery is stunning, we will definitely go again.

Had a great stay in this lovely cosy inn. Brilliant for food, drink, walks and views. This was our second visit and both have met our expectations. Staff friendly and coped well when very busy. Food very tasy and well presented. Rooms fairly basic but in keeping with an old inn and everywhere clean and tidy. Room 7 was quite...
