I purchased an overnight stay including breakfast, from Groupon, but it didn't turn out to be a cheap trip. Dinner was rather expensive at £55 per head, but I must say the service and food were excellent. Breakfast was good with the same excellent service and freshly prepared food. We were given a room within the main hotel, and although...

My wife and I have lived in Perthshire for over 30 years and we have many times eaten at the Ballathie House Hotel. The standards over this time have been consistently high and have never fallen below excellent. On this occasion we took advantage of a bargain 3-course lunch for £19.95 and were rewarded with superb food, good service and...

The tea was a gift from our son and was very, very good. We were seated in a very comfortable lounge with beautiful views of the sunny gardens and the river Tay. We have been before and that time, by choice, sat in the foyer beside a roaring log fire. If anything yesterday's tea was even better. So much choice,...

The hotel obviously has so much going for it being set in such a beautiful part of the country. Our room was lovely and well equipped. I loved the great big bath which was exactly what was needed to thaw out after a day fishing. The food was delicious and presented like a work of art. The biggest asset is...

This was our second visit, this time with friends. We had rooms in the Riverside building which were a good size, very comfortable and warm with views over the river. The rooms also had balconies but sadly the weather was not conducive to sitting out. The staff were very helpful, friendly and seemed to enjoy working in Ballathie. We were...

Enjoyed a two day stay here. Pleasant welcome. Rooms clean and warm. Bathroom and shower nice. Heated towel rail kept it cosy. Dinner was excellent. Staff very courteous. Bits of hotel are a bit dated but it does add to the charm of the place. Could do with a little light music in one or two of the lounges. Pleasant...

Lovely staff make you very welcome and Ballathie has a very relaxing, lived in, house party feeling to it. The room was comfortable enough, just be aware that Ballathie likes to keep its guests very warm. If like me you are used to old houses where the room temperature is more modest, remember to switch the radiators off at night....

Stayed for a week in a "master room" ( number 6) at the main house, a more expensive option, but worth it. Helpful and proficient, well trained staff. Wonderful location in a large rhododendron forest with well trimmed gardens surrounding the house. Great window view to the river Tay. Amazing old-time hunting trophy 1st floor lounge. Gourmet level dinner, perhaps...
