Spent the weekend of November 13-15 (two nights) tent camping at Blackwoods Campground. This is a great campsite. All the sites have ample parking and space for tents. Ground is gravelly so there is a little difficulty in getting tent pegs in, but other than that was good. Campsite also had a nice fire ring and plenty of space. It...

We camped in Blackwoods in a tent only site over a long weekend, and it was one of the nicer national park camp grounds I've been to. It was very clean, nice bathrooms that were easy to get to, and a surprising number of birds that weren't ravens or jays, as well as some adorable chipmunks. We liked the spot...

Beautiful campsite shaded by pine trees and a short walk to the ocean. We saw a Bald Eagle fly right in front of us! The only drawbacks are that there are no electric or water hookups. The bathrooms were very clean but there were no showers. There were electric plugs in the bathrooms and people were charging their phones and...

I (25 year old), my parents, and my grandfather stayed at Blackwoods Campground the past 5 nights in a rental RV. To my grandfather's disappointment, there were no hook-ups but we knew that ahead of time, and the rest of us didn't have a problem with that. The bathrooms had flush toilets and cold running water and soap and there...

We have camped at Blackwoods in Acadia National Park for five decades. It remains one of our favorite destinations. Like most Park Service campgrounds, Blackwoods is ideal for family camping. The sites are spacious and drain well. The bathrooms are immaculate. There are no showers in the campground but there is a commercial facility just outside the entrance. Grocery stores...

Great campground. The sites were in the forest and roomy. Location was perfect. Far enough away from the town (Bar Harbor) and yet close to hiking trails, climbing, etc. The short path through the woods to the ocean was lovely.

We came after the crowds left! Very close to Acadia National Park and overlooks water. Park at your site, fire pit, very wooded area, allows pets, bathrooms and running water (no showers). There is a place to shower down the road. We stayed on Loop A Perfect spot.

Had the pleasure of spending a fall weekend at blackwoods campground. The staff was super friendly and expedited our check in. (It was late September and they only had 10 sites left) Bathrooms were super clean throughout our stay and the camp site was in perfect condition. The best was the free available firewood that was cut and split. If...

Best campground ever! You are not camping on top of your neighbor. Most sites are very private and allow you to set up your site the way you want. Friendly and accommodating staff. Nice restroom facilities, with shower facilities located just outside the campground on Otter Creek. We camp every time we come to Acadia, which is almost every year.

Stayed during Labor Day weekend and although the "NO vacancy" sign was up there seemed to be sites left available for some walk up. Great Location in the heart of the park right off Rte 3. Direct access to Park's bus system. Only slight problem were that our site was on a bit of an incline and for 1/2 of...
