At an elevation of 8000 feet this campground can be cold in mid May. Bathrooms were recently remodeled. They have instant hot water, a big plus when the morning temperature was below 40 d F. Another plus is plentiful drinking water. Ground squirrels and chipmunks...More

This was our first trip to Bryce Canyon-we drove our RV and were lucky to find a spot in Sunset Campground. The campground area is in a great location-walking distance to the park shuttle, which runs about every 10-15 minutes. The RV sites have plenty...More

Campground was ok, your standard campground. But the bathroom was great! It was renovated, had warm water, and was very very clean. There were no showers, and the showers at the general store close at 6pm.

I'm planning a trip to Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion in July. This is a road trip from Florida and my family's first time out West. I'm trying to book all our accommodations for the trip and am feeling pretty frustrated about the lack of sites available for reservation online. I'm one day from the opening of the reservation window for my desired date and all sites are already booked. I've read that you need to arrive early (by 8?) to secure a "first come" spot especially on the weekend. We are planning to drive up from the Grand Canyon on Saturday, July 15th so I don't see us making it there by 8 or any time before noon to secure a spot for ourselves. I'm hoping someone familiar with the campgrounds in the area can offer a little guidance here. I've considered leaving GC late on the 14th and staying overnight in a hotel near Bryce Canyon so we can get into the park early enough to get a camping spot. Am I needlessly worrying about this or will it be necessary to take this step?

Hello! We are going to be there in mid Sept. with our tent trailer and would like to stay in the tent area, away from the generators. Can you tell me which loop I will be able to stay in please? Thank you! (And which spot is your favorite??) ;)

We are planning on camping at Sunset Campground mid-September with our tent trailer. Would we be able to stay in the tent area (no generators) or are the tent sites walk-in only? I would like to make a reservation, are there any sites that are awesome and private? Thank you for your time!
