Shocking to pay $350 for this dive! The rooms are dirty and run down, the restaurants are shabby and overpriced. The staff were not friendly at all and we found a cricket jumping around our room at bedtime. Pillows were hard and uncomfortable, there was no bar soap in bathroom or shower area. Honestly, there were no redeeming features and...

I have had a life-long desire to stay at the Furnace Creek Inn (I like these historic 1930s hotels). It was booked when I set up my reservations, so took "the last remaining spot" at the Ranch. (See below re Inn). Ranch was comfortable and very friendly throughout, and certainly clean enough from reception to room, to grounds, to restaurants....

Fantastic location wonderful rooms all with views with very welcome swimming pool ... food unexceptional unless you count takeaway pizza by the campfire. We only stayed one night but we arrived well ahead of check in time and we were accommodated straight away by a very helpful receptionist ... we even heard coyotees at dawn. Remote but really comfortable

The room was ok for $300 (I would rate it higher if the cost was not so high): however, much better than the Furnace Creek Inn for a few hundred more, and up the street. The room was clean, air conditioned, with all the cable channels and you can sit on the patio in the evening. Parking in front of...

The 'upscale' Inn was built in 1927, and the Ranch in 1933. They are within DV National Park and are operated by concessionaire Xanterra. The Inn was the place to stay for many years and it featured delicious meals and professional servers. As with the El Tovar in the Grand Canyon, Xanterra maintains its grip on these properties, ushering them...

While we didn't stay here, we did stop by to pick up food and grab a few cool moments away from the heat. The general store is wonderful: great food to go, gifts, and more. You're safe in stopping there and knowing the store will probably have what you're looking for.

We tried to get into the RV area at Furnace Creek that has some hook ups but it was full. We have a self contained RV so we stayed at Sunset Campground across the road. There are no hook ups of any kind but there are restrooms. It is close enough to the General Store, Cafe, Bar and Buffet that...

My wife and I just spent two days in Death Valley. For availability reasons we stayed one night in the Furnace Creek Ranch and one in the Furnace Creek Inn. Both accommodations were excellent: being seniors we preferred the Furnace Creek Inn that appears to be mostly adults only. Discussing our stay afterword, my wife was saddened by the "rather...

Location and amenities were great! Rooms dated, food at ranch limited and just okay and service at restaurants not great. But I would stay again because of the surroundings and central location to awesome hikes and scenery.

Furnace Creek Inn @ 2 nights -- 1st visit for active, 60+ y.o. couple (1 employed,1 retired). Very mixed about this place. GOOD -- interesting architecture; creative mini-tunnels & stone walkways; helpful INDIVIDUAL staff; good views from all angles; location to Death Valley NP sites; room condition (#103); & can book online for combined discounts (AAA; SeniorPass) for 2 or...
