This is a pretty campground with good size sites surrounded by pine and palmetto forest. For a long time this campground only had toilets but no showers. Very recently within the past year new showers have been built. Many people miss them because they are in separate buildings and not where the toilets are. There is no electricity or water...

We stayed our first night in Flamingo and were swarmed by mosquitos. This site was comparatively fine for skeeters. They were easily held in abeyance here by covering up, using a campfire, and spray (that was not the case at Flamingo). We thought the nearby pond might make for more bugs but instead the breeze off it seemed to keep...

As far as the Everglades goes, this campground is far superior to the Flamingo site further south. In mid-February, Flamingo was impossibly swarming with mosquitoes and had no privacy at all. Long Pine was very nicely set up with grassy tent sites and nice RV sites, a privacy screen of brush between sites, a nice little firepit. I didn't find...

We stayed here with our friends and two RV's. It's so quiet there and there are no lights, so you can enjoy nature as it is. Nearby are several walking routes to see the Everglades Park. Large RV sites. Watch out for the tiny musquitos.

It's tucked away in a forest of tall pines near the park entrance at Homestead. Four things to know about Long Pine Key (Bathrooms are clean, but No showers), (lousy cellphone reception, if any), (no firewood sold, stop at Home Depot in Homestead), (Does not accept reservation). Open Nov.15 to May 31, Sites $20. night. This campground is bare bones,...

The campground itself is basic, beautiful and quiet, with places for RVs and tents alike. The ground is a soil/gravel mix, so we had to check for good places to peg the tent. There are toilets, drinking fountains and a wash basin for plates and such, but other than that it's miles of amazing scenery. We camped at the start...

Great campground inside the everglades nationalpark. No electricity or brilliant rest rooms but you can refill your water and dump the sewer. The natural environment is awesome and it is allowed to make a fire at your site. A lot of fun for the kids and a good start as you are near the popular trails.

Our family has enjoyed the Long Pine Key Campground for almost a week now. The campground is very clean. Unlike Flamingo, Long Pine has trees and shrubs that offer a little shade and privacy. I'd recommend a site on the outside of the loops so that you have pine forest behind your site. The bathrooms were clean. There is a...

Perfect time of year for camping in the everglades and Long pine key was perfect weather and a great to be there during the week. I arrived before dark but the kiosk where you register was closed with a sign that informed everyone to come back in the morning by 10AM to pay. 16 dollars per night and the grounds...

Really enjoyed a one night stop-over in late December 2014. Totally unserviced campgrounds are becoming somewhat rare, and it was nice to stay in a campground that wasn't dominated by RVs for a change. Vast majority of people were in tents, and I saw A LOT of small, backpacking sized gear in the park. The lack of RVs/generators made the...
