A true old-style, big-log, huge-fireplace lodge on a lake with forest all around. Like camping, no TVs, phones, bare bones rooms -- but four stars for rugged ambiance back in the days when people weren't spoiled rotten. Play board games around the massive fireplace in the community room, rocking chairs all around. The lodge has plenty of non-electronic games. Learn...

We stayed for two nights in a double bed room in Snyder Hall. Snyder hall is a separate building than the main Lake McDonald Lodge. The room is cheap considering the prices of other rooms in the same location or in the main lodge building. Our room didn't have a private bathroom but the shared bathrooms in the building were...

If you are in the area of Kalispell or Whitefish or Columbia Falls, Montana and have one day available, I can recommend a short drive (1 hour or less) to touch on the wonders of Glacier National Park. Don't forget your Regular or Senior National Park pass, otherwise the one-car fee is $35. After entering the park from the west,...

Staying here felt like stepping back in time to a very romantic alpine setting. So secluded. So natural. So retro. They also had these magnificent red vintage tour busses that have been restored, with an open top so that you could be one with your surroundings. Loved our time here. Especially swimming in the pristine and crystal-clear lake. We stayed...

My friends and I stayed at the cabins one night on our trip to Glacier. The cabins were perfect. We were maybe 100 ft from the Lake. If you are going to Glacier, I think you know you will not get wifi or cell signal or TV in your room. However, the location more than makes up for the lack...

Great accommodations. I was really worried because we flipped our itinerary 11 months ahead of our trip and landed a scale cabin room. It was plenty hug enough and nicely appointed. We look forward to returning again one day. Fabulous property.

The Lodge on Lake McDonald predates the Glacier National Park. However, it has been restored to its original rustic yet elegant beauty. It has a top shelf restaurant and a more casual cafe with a wide variety foods. The Lake boat tour leaves from the lodge as well as many hiking trails. From the Lodge you can drive your car...

If you like old rustic looking lodges in National Parks, this is certainly one you should check out. The entrance lobby is grand with exposed timbers. The hotel is right on Lake McDonald, so the views are pretty nice off the porch/deck which overlooks it. The room we had was small but certainly large enough for us and our bags....

We booked about 6 months in advance and thought it would be a cool right of passage thing to stay in a lodge in the park. I honestly would have been happier staying at our cabin in Apgar Village for less than the price of the lodge. With no elevators, we lugged our stuff up to the second level and...

This was our first time in GNP and so the lodge as well. It is at an ideal location and breath taking. The lodge is unique, warm and the fireplace huge, though during our visit it was still too warm outside for its' use. The lodge has a very varied gift shop collection of items. The restaurant on site has...
