We stayed in Frontier Cabin #2. The advantage was that it had a double bed , nice bathroom and it was a real log cabin. This cabin was close to the lodge, the Canyon Rim, but also the sewer system. The stench was horrible. We opened all the windows, which helped, a bit. The next morning at 7am a delivery...

We stayed in a Frontier Cabin (double bed, twin bed, desk, rod to hang clothes, re-done bathroom). There were a lot of them close together - I likened the grounds to an ant farm, but the sense of classic log cabin/history is great. You can see that electricity was added later (by the visible wiring), but the bathroom was updated...

The best thing by far staying here is the location. We were steps away from the rim in a totally cute cabin. We watched the sunset on the patio by the lodge and it was beautiful. There was a server that brought us chips and salsa while we sat outside (and had a menu for some other eating options which...

This was our first trip to the North Rim. MUCH better than our visit to the South Rim years ago. We love this place. We were very lucky to get cabin 306. Right on the Rim with exceptional views! The room was very nice for a national park cabin, and we have stayed in quite a few. The price is...

This is the second time I’ve stayed in one of the Frontier Cabins at the North Rim. “Frontier” aptly describes the cabins and you will pay $129 plus tax for a cabin that would probably rent for not more than $50 elsewhere. But it’s “location, location, location” and a monopoly on lodging, so enjoy the view and the experience of...

As background, I made my initial reservation with Forever Resorts in February and secured a motel room. Having no life, I proceeded to stalk the Forever website (and I mean stalk, multiple refreshes of their reservations page every day for five-ish months) and flipped that motel room into a Western Cabin, a limited-rim view Western Cabin, and finally - by...

I had read several reviews here and elsewhere that were less than flattering. Nonetheless, we booked our cabin and were very happy with the results. The cabin was nice, clean and very well kept. The beds were soft and comfy with clean linens and towels. It was a little tight room wise but what do you expect out of a...

We just returned from 2 nights at the North Rim of Grand Canyon staying in a little frontier cabin. My son and his son and my grand daughter and my husband and I rented a double cabin....in other words, it had a door ajoining the 2 rooms and we each had our own bathrooms. Contrary to many reviews, we were...

The North Rim is one of the must - sees in the United States. Since this lodge sits on the rim it has a phenomenal view. Enjoy sitting on the porch looking at the sunset. Unfortunately the general service at the lodge leaves something to be desired: While it is not too surprising that there is no air conditioning, one...

We spent two nights at the Grand Canyon Lodge, North Rim, two weeks ago. We drove for what seemed like forever, to get there, but was it ever worth it! We arrived at dusk to see a field of buffalo and kept driving until we finally arrived at the Lodge. It was late and dark and we went to our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The more remote North Rim offers up its beauty and solitude to those willing to make a little longer trek to cooler temperatures and greener vegetation of the Grand Canyon's less visited rim. Time means little here in this Nirvana for nature lovers…abundant forest beauty and wrap-around scenic splendor as sheer walls hold in the Colorado River a mile below. The only developed lodging within the National Park’s North Rim boundaries this historic treasure has cabins and lodging tucked into the trees and dotting the canyon edge. The historic dining room with wall to ceiling windows gives diners the unique opportunity to take in the Canyon's views and tasteful regional and sustainable delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended. For guests seeking a unique remembrance of their visit to this special place, there is a gift store and convenience store located at the North Rim. Authentic Native American handcrafts, jewelry and merchandise that is U.S.A. made by local and regional artists provide an array of gift items for guests to the Grand Canyon. Smell the pines, listen to the fluttering leaves of quaking aspen, and keep an eye out for a California condor, the largest bird in North America. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is only open from mid May to mid October. ... more   less
