We stayed in El Tovar after hiking the whole day from the Phantom Ranch at the botom of Grand Canyon. After such a long hike we were so tired that we fall asleep very fast and did not have a chance to enjoy the hotel more. Room was on a smaller side but had everything you need including a coffee,tea...

We only stayed one night at this hotel, we came up to meet friends for a hike thru the Canyon. If you are looking for a sleek, modern hotel this is not the place for you. Because we travel so much for work and kids sports, we stay in those chain hotels often (they are terrific for convenience), it was...

We had a nice drink on the porch overlooking the Grand Canyon. Very attentive staff. What a great treat after walking the rim of the canyon. Just a perfect place to relax with a beverage of your choice.

El Tovar has great history, and by calling feverishly one year in advance, we were able to reserve the El Tovar Suite - one of the 3 rooms on South rim with a balcony overlooking the canyon - (and the balcony is accommodating enough for a large party). Room was comfy, room service (why eat anywhere other than the balcony?)...

We stayed at the hotel overnight on our visit to the canyon. It is a very authentic historic hotel. The rooms are small but nice and clean. I believe the restaurant is very nice but we didn't eat there. Nice spot to stay on the rim.

This hotel is pricey but worth it. The convenience is unparalleled. Walk out the front door, take a left and you’re at the south rim. The added advantage of the location is you have the rim to yourself until about 11:00 when the busses, daily cars or train come in the park, then it can be very crowded, until early...

My husband and I never seem to be able to plan holidays a year ahead ,so when I first looked for availability at the El Tovar for our spring visit there wasn't any. But as with Yellowstone last year a random phone call to check found us being offered the Painters Suite. So if at first you don't succeed do...

We reserved our room late in the year and got small room. But it was comfortable , clean and served ours needs. Of course you go to the canyon to see the outdoors and the hotel is central to everything on the south rim. Great views, fun bus tours and make sure to eat at the el tovar dining room....

I loved the location. Small parking lot so a bit challenging to find a parking space. I liked this hotel better than the Kachina. I also enjoyed the El Tovar Restaurant onsite. Would return and would recommend to others.

The location couldn't be better and the view is spectacular. The room was clean and very well appointed. It's an old hotel, and there isn't an elevator, but there are rooms on the lobby level, and porters to help with your bags if need be. We picked the smallest room with an en suite bathroom, but peeked into other rooms...
