I'm torn because we had a great room at a decent price on the upper level with a partial canyon view. It was larger than we thought and we had no complaints about it. So why am I torn? Because it is more expensive and I am trying to understand the actual benefits of staying here versus one of the...

We decided to go to the park at the last minute, and was lucky that someone had canceled just minutes before I called. $1644.00 for 3 nights in the El Tovar Suite. The room faces the canyon and is directly facing it, your huge balcony can easily accommodate 25 people or more. We had room service for dinner and breakfast...

Stayed overnight in a room we had reserved almost a year in advance. Wonderful location right on the rim. Historic to say the least and a gorgeous lobby that you can sit and enjoy endlessly, not to mention the rocking chairs out front. Yes, it is an old hotel and it shows in the small rooms with a musty odor....

I absolutely loved this place. It has an (American) old world elegance about it and a long history. I'm glad that it's relatively unchanged from its original look and feel. If you are looking for sleek, updated and modern, you will not like it. If, like me, you purposely want to experience the grandeur of its past, you will not...

5 stars for location, 3 stars for an extremely tiny (but clean) room. Walking right out to the south rim was such a bonus for us traveling with a 3 month old, and we were able to take frequent breaks when needed and go back to the room for naps/feeding. It's also right next to the visitor center where we...

Our family loves to travel to the US National Parks and we are making our way through our bucket list, which includes staying at the historic lodges. During our recent trip the Southwest, we spent 3 nights at the El Tovar Hotel. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, which enhanced our experience in the park. The hotel was built in...

We had the great misfortune to stay at this hotel yesterday. The only thing it's got going for it is the location and the fact you are inside the park so you get to see the wonderful sunrise over the Grand Canyon. Apart from that it's a great pity someone doesn't load a bomb into one of the helicopters and...

I called for reservations just over a year in advance and was fortunate enough to get the Mary Coulter suite (2 queen beds, deck overlooking Canyon). We also had a "regular" 2 queen room next door. It was fantastic and incredible and amazing. Did I mention it was amazing?!?! Both rooms were super. Very nice. We nearly never left the...

We visited this hotel on our trip to the Grand Canyon. I tried to talk my husband into renting it but he didn't want to pay the $281 a night to stay . In my opinion it would have been worth the money. The hotel itself is kind of old but being in the park to see the sunrise, sunset...

A family of 5 (all adults) spent two nights here between Christmas 2016 & New Year. We managed to arrive just after a snowfall, so the ambience of the surroundings was gorgeous (we're from the sub-tropics, after all). The hotel is old, and therefore we expected an older style and not modern fittings/furnishings/ comforts. The foyer was decorated beautifully for...
