We met up with friends to go tent camping and there are a couple of things you should know before you camp here. Great bathrooms and showers and they even have laundry facilities available near the small camp store closest to the check in area for the campsites. Amazing over looks and views...if it's not foggy!!! We did get to...

Just got back from a weekend camping at Big Meadow and it was a lot of fun. Campsites were nice. Had numerous bathroom facilities - downside the ones I went into only had ONE sink and mirror, but they were clean and well cared for. The wildlife was incredibly. Every morning and evening we had two fawns come into our...

We stayed in this camp ground - we had a drive in site. It was fabulous and it was close to lots of trail heads for hiking - and the showers and campstores were useful too. I hope to return to this campground again.

Campground was clean, quiet, family friendly, full of deer, and exceptional Camp Host. We stayed 3 nights in early June 2016 at Big Meadows Campground. Deer in the campground at all times of the day. AT trail borders the backside to provide some easy access hiking trails. Location is convenient to many other great day hikes. Showers were clean and...

First off, the park itself is gorgeous and offers countless hiking opportunities for all ages and abilities. For reference, we have three children aged 8,10, and 12. The Luray Caverns are absolutely spectacular, too! We saw one bear on Skyline Drive and lots of deer at the campsite. We had booked one of the walk-in sites, #39, I believe. The...

I was most excited to see all of the travelers stopping in from the Appalachian Trail (it runs through the campground). Each camping spot was spacious, the showers were hot and clean, and the staff was nice. There is a gas station and a store with supplies and gifts. The Byrd visitors center has a wonderful exhibit that highlights the...

The drive to the campground is so beautiful, campsite was very nice. Showers and laundry facility were very clean. Love the trail to walk to the big meadows camp store and the walkway to the big meadows lodge. All in all great camping trip.

We visited this park a year ago with our dog. The Drive from Philadelphia was easy and the park was great. We camped in a central location with great views of the meadows. Lots of dear and occasional sightings of black bear. The campground is clean, nice bathrooms and quite at night.

My son and I just stayed one night. We had a tent and did a campfire with smores and hot dogs and looked out for the bears. At nighttime we went to the ranger's presentation on astronomy. It was a lot of fun!

Camped in site E175 which sat about 25 ft from the Appalachian Trail. Campsites are close together, but you don't feel crowded. Bathrooms (fully flushable!) are nearby as are the showers/garbage/recyclable drops. Campstore is not too long a walk but a couple minute drive if you prefer that. Area I camped was mostly tents (I have a small RV that...
