We have stayed here many times over the past 10+ years. Thought August might be too hot, but was pleasantly surprised the gulf breeze kept temperatures bearable. Beach time, bike riding, reading books and of course BBQ, definitely coming back.

From the blue ridge mountains of NC to the white sands and clear waters of the gulf. The campground was nice. Recommend a camper with air if you are not used to the heat. Bring bikes for quick rides. Beautiful setting.
What a wonderful place! I wish they would let me live here. Nice campground. Nice restrooms. Spaces for big rigs and tents, alike. Activities for the kids and adults. Not far from restaurants and shopping.
Beautiful historical place to visit and relax. There is so much wildlife and history to explore! Swimming, fishing and just appreciating nature for a day. Just remember to bring your camera!

Here's what I did. Pick a spot and enter your dates. When it says not available, click back on your browser and then click on map. It should have all the reserved spots grayed out, and the available ones dark blue. Once this... More
Here's what I did. Pick a spot and enter your dates. When it says not available, click back on your browser and then click on map. It should have all the reserved spots grayed out, and the available ones dark blue. Once this is up, just leave it and refresh it every day. Eventually someone will cancel and it will pop up available! That's how we got in 3 weeks before we actually went. Good luck!
