We had been to Anantara Desaru from 14th to 16th June . My son Harin Parekh is a Member since the last few years snd we have visited quite a few of your resorts . I must say that Desaru is one of the best . I would specifically mention that your house keeping team is excellent . One of the team members Farhan Hafeez was extremely courteous and helpful . I wish him All success for the future 🙌.

These chalets are good to stay as they are near the beach and you can do your own cooking . But the only problem is the mosquitoes . So don't forget to spray your self nicely before entering them and before evening approaching .nice place to relax

Privacy was good, since there were very few people staying at the chalets. Maybe the fact that a few rooms were under "repair" was one of the problem. but there is no wifi connection there and the phone signal also poor. please improve on that. anything else, please upgrade your toilet to a good condition to make us ( visitors / customers ) comfortable to stay there. overall is ok. in the morning i'm woke up and heard the bird chirping and look the green surrounded by nature make me very comfortable and want to come back there again. thank you :) best budget chalet

I stayed at one of the double occupancy chalets in this resort and had a feeling that things could have been a lot better. All chalets are well spaced with own driveway and with walking distances to the seashore. But the chalets themselves are run-down and unnervingly close to an apparent collapse. The creeking noises from the wooden roofs during the night time winds are even more unnerving. There's a rustic calmess to the sea and surroundings that could have been made more enjoyable to guests if only the hotel guys had attended to the despair conditions of their chalets. Pluses - the surrounding, sea side enviros, nearby restaurant and a public beach. Minus - dodgy and uncomfortable chalets.

It's no joke, what the others have said; It's a terrible place. It's a tourist trap. Once you get there, you really have no other choice, since it's in the middle of no where. I went for the Family Chalet, we changed from 1 chalet to another, and finally, the staff had to admit, that it wouldn't make a difference because they are all the same. Unless of course, we go for the expensive renovated Chalet. That's basically the same lousy place, with the rotten boards replaced with concrete walls and added a few basic luxuries you get in any hotel today. Seriously overpriced. The as it is, version, does not give you what it promises. I either take the one with the fridge door that swings open, or the one whose doors close but doesn't cool. Some windows were broken, and the the toilet window of the chalet I chose had no glass sheets at all, so the monkeys can look directly at you as you shower. Well, the chalets were old and under kept, so you can imagine they each will have their own sets of missing this and faulty thats. Beware the groups of monkeys and wild dogs that roam the area scavenging. They mostly stay away from humans, but the monkeys will climb all over your roof, and start hissing at you when you encounter them. During monsoon season, the waves are vicious, so do not expect to go for a swim. The day I check in, a few people got pulled out to sea, while playing along the shore lines. if you don't mind backpackers stay, then it's quite spacious, comes with air conditioning, and private garage. but bare in mind you won't feel safe living there alone.…

Can only confirm what other wrote. We had no booking so we checked for hotels as we liked the beach in Desaru. We also happen to look at the Holiday Chalets and it was worse than anything we saw before called accomondation. The bed was covered with red mould and stains everywhere. The kitchen was completeltywrecked and looked like eaten by termites. They wanted to charge RM 200 for this mess. We left speechless...

We were very dissapointed with this place. We went to see it after hearing about the RM120 per night stay. The chalet they took us to was run down. It looked like the set of a horror moview. Holes in the roof, rusty fridge, cracked bathroom tiles, very dirty, no hot water, no tv and nightmarish. They took us to another one of their "upgraded renovated" rooms charged at RM300. It was decent but very expensive. In the end we went to another hotel.
