A group of 8 of us came here for one night as part of a walking weekend in the quiet, beautiful Shropshire countryside. Our room was gorgeous, quiet, cosy and spotlessly clean. We loved the huge Kingsize bed (or bigger?), which was extremely comfortable. There was a big wall mounted TV and a good selection of hot drinks and the...

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you all enjoyed your get together and flying visit to Shropshire, walking in our beautiful, unspoilt countryside. Thank you for your feedback regarding the tea/coffee tray in the bedrooms. Debra is reviewing our tray offering within the rooms as I write this to coincide with the launch of the new garden bedrooms. We...

We were impressed on our first stay and pleased to find everything as good (apart from the weather). The room was spot on and the food just right. Can thoroughly recommend The Baron. Also the surrounding scenery is beautiful! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the review. We're always pleased when guests choose to come and stay with us again. I'm sorry the weather was not so good this time. We hope to welcome you see again when you next visit Shropshire. Maybe stay in one of the new garden rooms?

Spent one night here recently - very comfortable accomodation and the restaurant features an old cider press wheel and other old farming implements - the food was very good - not a huge choice of dishes, but adequate for most tastes - the local real ales were excellent and obviously kept well.

Thank you for your review - we're glad you enjoyed your stay and our food and real ales. We do offer dishes for all tastes - meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian choices including British pub favourites and some dishes a bit more diverse - Chinese style twice cooked pork belly or Red Thai Peanut Curry. As well as our burgers...

We stayed this weekend for the first time and will be back. We arrived Saturday lunchtime and it was fairly quiet but within half an hour there were a lot more people. I can see why as the food was lovely and the surroundings are beautiful. We were shown to our room after we had been for a walk and...

From the moment we arrived until the time we departed we felt at "home". The staff were excellent nothing to much trouble. The rooms well appointed and spotlessly clean on arrival and every day of our stay The Menu covers all tastes and needs. Even the "locals" friendly The Location picturesque with walks a plenty and in easy reach of...

Stayed overnight in this country inn. The photos looked good when I booked, but the rooms were spotless, nicely decorated and well laid out. Our bed was very comfortable. I had booked the room with the large walk in shower and everything was like new, I guess the rooms have been newly renovated. We had a great night's sleep, no...

We are not infrequent visitors to this area but usually stay with friends. This time that wasn't an option so having been to the Baron previously for meals we decided that it would make a good base for this 'excursion'. The room was clean, smart and modern (in an old barn sort of way). The staff are welcoming, happy &...

Thanks for your review - we're glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are lucky to have fantastic countryside all around and MTB tracks are available in many of the local woods. There are trails straight up the hill from the Baron linking moderate, difficult and extreme trails in nearby Hopton Woods with regular competitions and uplift days... Not...

Three adults and one child, booked for roast beef Sunday lunch, food was absolutely delicious and desert was just as good. Definitely will be back again in the near future. 😀 also played a few games of pool 🎱 after to help the food down 😉

Spent a lovely couple of nights in this fabulous hotel. Nothing was too much trouble from the start. Owners were friendly and informative, rooms were comfortable and absolutely spotless. Well stocked tea and coffee tray - large bottle of local water, biscuits and bars of hand-made chocolate 😋. All meals were delicious- local produce, beautifully prepared. Great base for exploring...

A very good country pub with an excellent little restaurant. The waitresses were attentive friendly and polite. We hadn't booked but they found us a table and served us up a very tasty meal. I opted for the steak burger which was succulent and served in an artisan bread roll with salad and accompanied by a dish of home made...
