This establishment is not Disabled Friendly. However, a very pleasant place with a lovely interior of bar, restaurant, event room and many guest rooms. The food was outstanding and the staff really pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, we won't be using this hotel again as it is too difficult with a wheelchair but highly recommend it for non disabled families.

Friday night, just passing, not booked, staff found a table, order quickly taken before very large party had theirs! One Scampi with chips and salad very good and, a prawn curry with "all the trimmings" excellent . Full marks to staff who used their initiative, in accommodating us.

As someone that goes out for Sunday lunch most weeks, I have quite a bit of experience of local restaurants and what is on offer. I have to say the Downe Arms Sunday carvery is among my top 3. Very pleasant restaurant with friendly and efficient staff. The carvery offers a choice of 3 meats with a plentiful helping. A...

The service was very warm and welcoming. Lovely decor with delicious food. A real bright spot on a dull day. Very reasonable prices too. The bathroom facilities were excellent and although it was raining heavily outside it was so nice inside that you forgot about the weather entirely

As my intended sojourn in Scarborough clashed with some traditional Yorkshire cricket beanfeast wherein Scarborough's pitch becomes a ersatz Headingley, there was no room at the chosen inn. No fear for this is a really nice alternative that is only a few miles away. Although the buses are not numerous taxis are readily booked by the helpful owners. Nothing on...
