This homestay co-operative formed the best part of our Nicaraguan holiday. We had a very comfortable room with an ensuite in a separate building behind our hosts' home. Eric picked us up at the ferry and provided a detailed commentary about Moyogulpa and the co-op on the short drive to the property. He gave us a tour of the property...

Stayed here for 2 nights, it's a great place to meet locals and live in their environment as they live and learn from them, they were very helpful in answer any questions I had. The home cooked meal were delicious.

You have to know going into this what Puesta del Sol is and what it isn't. It's not a hotel or B&B, so some of the amenities you'd expect from hotels won't be here. Showers are cold water and rooms are simple but clean. You live as the family lives, with all that entails, including dust and bugs -- but...

My fiancé and I stayed for one night with a home stay family and we wished we could have stayed many more nights there. The grandson absolutely loved playing with us, the prices were reasonable (bicycle use no extra charge) and the central area is so calm and relaxing. If I go back to Nicaragua, I will make sure to...

Really cool homestay not far from Moyogalpa. We stayed here for 2 nights. Wonderful food and really nice people. Simple but clean accommodations. The community center is a great place to hang out with hammocks near the beach and drinks for sale. There are free bikes available and kayaks for rent.

I stayed at Puesta Del Sol as part of a G Adventures tour and everyone in the group loved it. The families involved in the project are all extremely friendly, the food was great, and the location of the homestays are ideal. There is a communal area right on the beach with great wifi, hammocks, and filtered water. The families...

We stayed 3 nights at Albalina and Mayla's house (Famila Ponce) in the Puesta del Sol community on Ometepe. It was a great way to get an insight of the day to day life of a family on the Island and we had a lot of fun with our hosts. The meals were probably the best we had in Nicaragua...

Stayed here for 2 nights & what a wonderful experience it was. There are several families who have opened their homes with this program & they all take turns hosting visitors. Be prepared to be treated like gold, everyone was very warm & friendly, even with a language barrier. Several of the hosts have kids who were very eager to...
