Stayed one night Jan 30/17. Very cute rooms, amazing grounds by Lake Nicaragua. Very quiet while there, not too many guests. Offered lovely breakfast w room . Resort is secluded , transportation required if not wanting to just stay at resort. Would definitely stay again

As the place is pretty isolated, you might be tempted to have dinner on site. Big mistake!! We had to wait for 1h15 between we placed our order and food arrived. And then the soup was so bad that we simply did not eat it. When we complained we got told that it was the chef's birhthday and he had...

I have stayed at Finca San Juan 3 times and each time has been a good experience. The resort is nicely designed, clean, and well-appointed with many sitting areas, hammocks, etc. They have a restaurant on site which makes things so convenient too! The staff are very accommodating, and English-speaking, which also makes it easier for foreigners. I asked them...

We loved Ometepe and Nicaragua. This hotel/Finca is not spectacular despite being the most expensive on the island. It was our only disappointment in this country. We don't seek luxury in our travels and we are not complainers. But here is what greatly bothered us. Foremost, they quoted us 90 dollars to hike volcano Maderas, which is exactly double of...

Upon arriving at the remote little village of Altagracia, you drive through a lush plantain grove into the beautifully manicured grounds of the hotel Finca San Juan Del Isla. Artfully integrated into the stunning natural surroundings of Lake Nicaragua, the main house and little wooden cabinas on stilts line the lake. Directly below the waves lap along the sandy beach...

You will say "wow" the second you arrive. Stayed only 2 nights. Wish it had been more. Log cabin right on the beach. Great view from bed. Staff were amazing and helpful and friendly and thankfully for us spoke good English. There are chairs and umbrellas on the beach to use or 20 or so hammocks to lie in. So...

Maybe we arrived at a bad time (Dec 1), but we did not have a great experience. The hotel only had maybe 6 guests and most of us were bunked in a back bungalow. Even knowing they were there, we rarely saw anyone. The first day was earily devoid of any other people other than the at the restaurant. We...

I only stayed for 1 night so take this review with a pinch of salt because I may not be best placed to fairly describe it. However, from what I did experience.. The drive is via 1-2k of plantation fields. You would need your own car or transport if you wanted to explore outside of the hotel, although I believe...

Visiting Ometepe Island and the Finca San Juan de la Isla is a unique experience. The island feels like a different world. The natural beauty and the kind Nicaraguese made the experience special. The finca is a working farm. You can do as little/as much as you want. Enjoying the playa is probably the major activity!

First of all you have to visit Ometepe, it's a beautiful place and you have to stay in Finca San Juan de la Isla, the people that works there is friendly and know the island, so they can recommend you what to do there. Try to stay 3 - 4 days. The cottages are really well design, clean, beautiful and...
