It's a bit of a trek to get to Ometepe Island, but Finca Del Sol was totally worth it! I loved my bungalow with private hammock and stunning volcano view, but was made to feel immediately at home with Sheri's incredible hospitality. She went out...More
I had a lovely time here. I stayed in Sol, the yellow adobe cabina, which felt huge and was really well ventilated. Great mosquito nets and a good, hot shower. The construction was also really well done - very simple yet stylish, with shelves and...More
We stayed for three nights in a spacious bungalow with our two young girls - age 8 and 6. The girls loved the farm - seeing the goats, sheep, dogs and a monkey at breakfast! The bungalow was clean, with lovely comfy beds and plenty...More
Thoroughly enjoyed this stay!
Friendly, accommodating hosts & easy access to Ometepe's bests! Hiked Volcan Maderas via a path from this farm's backyard, and with a guide easily arranged for via Sherri. Visited the most delicious and delightfully authentic restaurants, within walking distance and/or easily...More

The Tarantulas are small and the circumstances they come near the rooms is to get out of the rain. Having said that, the roofs overhang the room to form a 5 ft rain-sheltered area around the rooms. Any right thinking tarantula would only need to walk under this roof overhang to get out of the rain, Added to that the they would have to crawl under the door if they wanted to get in to the room (there is no food for them in there so they wouldn't be inclined to do that) and the space under the door is very very small. However, it does happen but it is rare.
