We came out to Ometepe planning to stay a week, and ended up staying a month at El Zopilote. Hidden on the hillside of the Maderas Volcano, this place has it all; cheap hammocks, dorms, and private cabins all nestled in verdant jungle. Regardless of what you're looking to do on the island Zopilote is a great home base- they...

We had fun staying at this camp, the food was delish and the rooms were unique. The management wasn't super helpful, however the atmosphere and views/location were incredible! Wear sturdy comfortable shoes because there is a lot of walking involved. Definitely recommended!

We stayed for 11 days when we were only planning to stay a few. Really enjoyed sleeping in the hammocks, plus there were no bugs! Great coffee at the bus shop. Appreciated the tour of the farm where one owner tells you about their sustainable initiatives. Free yoga twice a day was exceptional. Great people! Farm grown food and products....

Zopilote was just what we were looking for. Nothing really came up as an obvious place to stay while researching but then we decided to try this out. It's an all-in-one organic finca with great vibes and lovely people. If you're a couple make sure to stay in one of the personal cabañas which are great, we were in Murcielago...

The place was nice and well located. I came here beacause all the great recommendation I got from friends to come here, but they came here when this place (built by volunteers) was in other hands. The shame is that not they have changed many things and for instance no longer have anything to let you have your own food,...

I don't understand how is possible this site let a person write so many and so big lies. Or maybe you have been in some other place. This place has never changed management. Me and my family own this place from the start. Was 2002 when we bought the land that was a rice field. So we did everything here....

El Zopilote is one of the most beautiful places I have ever lived (even if only for roundabout four weeks). The island of Ometepe is a tiny paradise on earth and the ecological farmstay is a perfect place to choose, if you enjoy nature. There are plenty of hammocks to sleep in over night (for only 4 US Dollars), but...

Really didn't want to give his place a bad review, but after staying for 3 days our stay has been consistently bad. Sorry! - Doesn't take bookings, so we got the first ferry over and the first bus as the website said it was likely there would be rooms upon checkout time of 11. We arrived at 9.15 - no...

Eco Village Jungle Italian style in OMETEPE at its finest! We stumble upon this place while in Ometepe, planned to stay here for 2 nights and we stayed 4. Basic, rustic rooms. All you need. Camping spots and hamacas available for cheap. Unique, hippie vibes! Great people, great food, great views, & great, free yoga. Community oriented, if you feel...

Upon arriving at el zopilote I was immediately greeted by kind and friendly workers in the bus shop where they sell organic products from the farm. Everyone we met in the establishment was warm and helpful. We were quickly checked in and ready to relax! The hike up to El Zopilote was a few minutes long but very worth it....

We stayed here for 2 nights, first night in a double bed dorm was $8pp. Was basic and very rustic but clean and breezy, the second night we camped in a tent for $4. I can honestly say I've never stayed anywhere like this before, was basically a bunch of different dorms, bungalows, tent areas, hammock areas, and 2 restaurants...
