We fell in love with Elephant House the moment we arrived, with stunning views overlooking the pretty gardens, the verandas with beautiful furniture and furnishings, the entire decor of the Elephant House is gorgeous, loved the map room and the library with books and albums to peruse. Situated in a lovely area and so close to the Addo Elephant Park... More

Enormous luxurious room. (converted stables). Lush surroundings, with use of 2 pools. The main house has comfy chairs and verandas surrounded by beautiful plants. Fast internet. Really friendly people, who couldn’t do enough for us. The restaurant was slightly on the expensive side, but was lovely food, and quantities were good. It was a set menu though, and if there... If you like country houses, romantic rooms with a mosquito net and a distinct colonial interior design (complete with early 1900's photos albums) feel, then this is the RIGHT place for you, as it was for us. Perfect (or almost) in every way. The air was filled with orange blossoms' divine smell as this is spring in SA, just like... More

This was the place I was desperate to visit when we booked our trip. It even had a 'special mention' in the guide book as a favourite. To be honest it was nice but, there were a few things that spoiled it. On arrival they didn't know who we were and it took ages for them to work out if... More

I was so excited to stay at The Elephant House for our honeymoon and I was not disappointed, this place is beautiful! Our room was just lovely, the dinners were delicious and the staff were very accommodating with adapting menus. They run their own game drives into Addo Elephant Park and helped us organise some fantastic activities during our stay.... More

We made a return 3 night stay and didn't regret it. Well located for the main gate of the Addo Elephant Park we had a lovely room overlooking one of the pools, great hospitality from Clive, the owner, and all the staff and also much enjoyed the breakfast and dinners.

We loved this b&b right near the park. Staff, rooms, service and food we were all outstanding. They arranged great tours of the park, the local settlement and area history, a very nice canoe trip on the Sunday River and a local private game reserve. We hope to come back in the summer when we can enjoy the pool.

close to addo park Clive and his team provide a new/old African dream lodge even in winter. the food is excellent and even vegetarians can survive. Romms are clean and air conditioning is working bathrooms include an outdoor shower. Clive was a perfect gentleman host for us - we very much appreciated staying in the lodge.
