Sunday lunch. Wait of one& half hour.Tiny portion. Same portion for child and adult? However, not priced the same. Staff uninterested in our reaction to portion sizes. We overheard the comments of other customers with regard to their wait and also the adult portion size. Management need to address these issues. Please do not blame a busy weekend. You know...

Went for lunch with friends on Easter Saturday. Even though the pub was extremely busy the staff were friendly and we were served quickly and efficiently. It must be very difficult working under such extreme pressure !!!! Couldn't fault a thing with the staff, food or drinks.

My partner and I stayed at the inn for 1 night en route to London from Scotland. We were given room 11 which is the family room on the top floor. It has 1 double bed and 2 singles. First, the positives: the situation and setting of the inn is beautiful and we were given a warm and cheerful welcome...

Each time I go to Pooley I go here for drinks, in the summer we opt to sit outside but as the weather was poor we all went in doors. The pub was busy and we weren't eating so didn't initially sit at a table. We chose some sofas, as more of our friends came we had to use the...

Stayed 2 nights in march, booked for 3 adults and chose the room with a double and 1 single as on the website it said that there was no extra adult supplement for this room. I was quoted £190 for the 2 nights. Very reasonable and considering we were 3 female friends and two of us had to share a...

We visit the lake district every years and seen landlords/ ladies come and go but happily to report that it always keeps its standards. We ate twice in here on our holidays with our 2 dogs. Food was lovely very generous portion sizes. The staff were friendly and helpful. Slightly confused why there is a menu, a specials board and...

Great service here throughout - lovely cosy room with high quality bedding. Bathroom is very small in the room we had - this is the only downside. Fantastic food and service, great location next to Ullswater. Lovely spacious balcony. Thoroughly recommend.

Just home from a very relaxing break. We love it here as the food is good, man sized portions and friendly staff. Only grumbles are would of nice to have fires lit as it was a little cold in the bar and our lasagne was very dry but other than that great place. We keep going back and even our...

Just back from our 4th visit from this gorgeous Inn. New owners have got it perfect, food superb and staff wonderful. Got Room 10 again and it's just right for us, 6 year old and 2 dogs. Can't wait to return for next visit.

Stayed in room 5 for an evening. Room was nice, has a balcony (not a spectacular view but would be nice in summer) and the bed was relatively comfy. The room was quite warm even without the radiator on and that and the constant humming noise in the corner of the room suggested it was next to a boiler. TV...
