1863 in Pooley Bridge provided an excellent room, superb food at their restaurant and top notch service. The restaurant is worth visiting on its own for top quality food and good service. Portions are fairly small but huge on quality.

The refurb of the main room is a great success. Its a very comfortable and inviting space. The bedroom although smaller than we expected was refurbished and refitted to a very high standard. The bar area is a tad squashed though. The restaurant is aiming at fine dining and its close, although portions are very small as is the menu....

Our weekend stay was great in every way! From the moment we stepped in out of the light early summer rain to a warm welcome from Nounou! The rooms have everything you need. Beds are comfortable, shower is good and it is very clean. The staff are all lovely especially the gorgeous Leah. Bar is lovely and friendly and has...

The bedroom was beautifully presented and ideal for our long weekend stay. The bar and fireside area are very relaxing. The breakfast choices were excellent including vegetarian options. I will certainly be booking again for my next stay on Pooley Bridge

Found this B+B Bar and Bistro by a google search of the area and what a find. Pooley Bridge is a lovely little village at Ullswater. Our room was gorgeous, modern furnishings, excellent large rain shower, quirky bar area and dining room. All staff very friendly and attentive with a great choice at the bar...lots of gins! We were booked...

Great village with lots of pubs and gift shops, perfect for a relaxing weekend or for getting your boots on and enjoying many walks and fantastic views of the lake District. Mark and Ann are fabulous hosts and very knowledgeable...

Stopped here on our way home after a busy few days. Small but perfectly formed with very friendly staff. A very relaxing atmosphere throughout. We ate in the bistro and we were delighted; delicious food, well organised, welcoming and well worth the money. Breakfast was also excellent and in the sunny restaurant. Would highly recommend it.

It's not like me to rave about somewhere unless it is warranted and in this case it is. This is a small hotel/B&B that is family owned and run. In turn it is friendly with a relaxed atmosphere and great service. Our double room was large enough with a comfortable bed. We ate dinner in the restaurant- the food, presentation...

First meal there was in January, my wife's Birthday. Second meal today, Mothering Sunday. Although they are trying to be upmarket with regards to their menu they fall short with consistency, plus the service really doesn't match what they are trying to portray. On each visit we had three courses and I'd say only one of which on both occasions...

A little confused by your review. Not sure what you think we are trying to achieve but from our prospective we are all about providing fabulous quality locally sourced food in a relaxed atmosphere, we don't portray ourselves to be fine dinning or silver service, it's not what we're about. We do listen to our customers and 99% love what...
