The Lodge is great for families with young children, there's a kids play center and shallow pool. The Library Bar has stunning decor and is perfect for adults to kick back whilst the children are running around. You will also appreciate the bar if don't have kids! The food is great, be prepared for generous portions. The rooms are spacious...

We spent an afternoon here at Makaranga where they have the most beautiful gardens and Zimbabwe sculptures. There is also a Japanese garden. The lunch was good but over attentive service from the "manageress" who was in our face trying too hard. The pasta was good but no offering of Parmesan . Salad well presented and exceptional focaccia. But overall I...

Having traveled the world as a family and stayed in numerous hotels socially as well as on business, this is a true gem - Stunning gardens, excellent food, staff that truly accommodate all requests and beautifully appointed rooms make this a must when in KZN. My family (20 people) and I celebrated by dad's 70th birthday at the restaurant and afterwards spent the day in the beautiful heavenly gardens. There was a time when I stumbled upon a hidden, secret garden that made me feel like I'd walked into a fairy kingdom. the place was totally enchanted and I wanted to stay there lying in...

Stunning location. we had a suite and a normal room for the kids. The suite is very well appointed and exceptionally spacious. We had room service which was delicious for lunch, and sat on the balcony and took in the amazing garden view. Dinner we ate at Nonnas, which I have to say was absolutely exceptional. One of the best...

The room was beautiful with magnificent views of the gardens. We visited during a picnic promotion but the noise levels did not affect us in the room. Being our first time there the receptionists made sure sure they checked in to remind us that we need to book a table for our meals. Room service menu had a good variety....

When we checked in the staff were very friendly. The room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the garden. The room service was very slow waited nearly 2 hours. They are also slow in removing dirty plates and cups from the room. The security was excellent. They just gave us the wrong codes to exit the property.

The grounds at this hotel are absolutely beautiful. It is a very tranquil setting and a lovely place to visit. However, as a paying hotel guest there's still a way to go. This was our 4th year staying at the hotel and unfortunately will be our last. Good points: The standard rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious, they are cleaned...

Always one of my favorite spots to take family and friends visiting -even if it's just for tea and cake, doesn't always have to be a huge meal. Beautiful gardens to stroll in or perfect for a picnic. Food will never disappoint.

Such a relaxed environment to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Pity the service is slow but the place is beautiful. The rooms are specious and clean and the reception staff is very helpful. The costs are quite reasonable.
