Stayed here with the family whilst touring through the moors.

Stopped over weekend just gone. Nice surroundings and good area for some nice walks, about half hour driver from Whitby. very friendly staff & owners. The food was very nice and the room clean and very cosy.

If you're asking re walking castleton to Whitby, my Hudl says 5 hours or so! The Esk valley train takes 45 minutes & its a superb run, not to be missed & this pub is a 2 minute walk from the station!
