We chose Brockies lodge for our wedding after being recommended to us by a friend it turned out to be an excellent choice as James Paterson and all his staff did us proud with all their hard work and friendlyness shown on the day . The meal was beautiful and well presented with plenty of choices, generous portions real good value...

In terms of location this hotel is handily placed. The accommodation is a bit dated, for example small TV perched on drawers at the side of the bed promotes a stiff neck! The breakfast is good and the bar is fine. For the price it is value for money.

WE were staying close at hand and after Hogmanay decided to dine at Brockie's Lodge after a drink at lunchtime. I chose the venison and pheasant stew with dumplings and she had the Haggis tatties and Neeps. Both were very good indeed and after a pud was tempted to have a dram or two but the faceless sons of fun...

We've eaten here a few times as we live just a mile away. The menu is inexpensive so you get what you pay for. The food isn't by any means terrible but it isn't anything great either. Service is OK but they usually seem understaffed but the waitresses are always very friendly. Colin on the bar does his best (bless...

We were staying locally and popped into the hotel for dinner. We ordered baked camembert to share, but we were disappointed with the portion we got. The cheese was the smallest size with only 3 little strips of bread. We ordered steaks for our main course these were cooked to order and were a good portion. Dessert was banoffee pie...

Huge conservatory set for meals Freezing Radiators Off - Enter the doors into another room with a lovely log fire with lots of logs set around UNLIT and no other heating. Ordered two drinks and took them through to the back bar - four of five people in here so this must be where the heating is. Wrong all radiators...

I have been here a few times as I live close by. The first time, about 1 year ago, was ok up until the desert when we were served a meal which had fungus all over the inside. The management apologised for this and we were given a free drink, however this could hardly make up for the disgusting mistake...

Had a family celebration meal here - Starters were good and great family entertainment with the bouncy castle, however two of the party hardly ate as the mixed grill was terrible; liver was awful, sausage was a disgrace and meat tough and unpalatable - one meal was completely forgotten about and only brought when asked for 10 minutes later, very...

I received a great welcome from the reception staff and shown to my room. The price was very reasonable for a single traveller, so I didn't expect much. The secret of a successfully hotel is to raise the expectations of its guests. Good WiFi reception and great breakfast. For business travellers, you won't get a chocolate on your pillow but...
