We held our wedding service and reception at the Country Cottage on the 8th October 2016. It was a truly amazing day with all the staff being so helpful and attentive, especially Linda the wedding planner who certainly goes the extra mile to make the day so special. We had an amazing time so a great thank you to all...

A very pleasant overnight stay in this unusual hotel. Beautifully kept gardens in the grounds between the cottages. Friendly staff, who were very helpful. Rooms could do with a little TLC, but were comfortable. Shower a bit temperamental. Considering there was a wedding on we managed to get a seat in a quiet corner for a drink both before and...

I'm booked this hotel once a year for a work visit to nearby Keyworth. The rooms are decorated in what can be described as high Chintz. It's definitely not modern minimalist. If you're in the main building the rooms are warmer and normal sized. The suites are large and in out buildings, but can be a bit cold in late...

First impressions of this hotel are really positive, but, the devil is in the detail. The garden and plants are superb. Plenty of parking spaces but they are far too narrow. Check in was swift and friendly. The room decor is very old fashioned with an extremely unprofessional finish. Furnishings are very old, cheap, and faded white chipboard dominates. Thick...

Good value for money at only £9 per head, but the quality was reflected in the price. China crockery but not matching. Bread and scones a little dry. Good helpings. Nice surroundings in the garden more of a picnic than an afternoon tea, but I assume a properly set table would have been provided inside..

Dear John Thank you for your review. All the elements of our afternoon tea are freshly made, including the scones and cakes, and I am sorry you found some of the food a little dry. I have passed your comments onto the chef. I'm afraid the mismatched crockery is deliberate, the vintage trend to mix up designs and styles has...

I booked the Country Cottage Hotel for 9 colleagues who had travelled from across the UK to attend a silver wedding party being held nearby. We had an absolutely delightful afternoon tea, served in the light airy dining room, beautifully presented and served by very helpful staff. The rooms were spot-on too as was the breakfast. Thank you for making...

Stayed here in the Courtyard Suite. The room. itself was very clean but honestly a bit tired and could do with a little TLC. The hotel itself is quirky with little lounge areas tucked away and 2 dining rooms. Can see why people would have a wedding here. Sat in the courtyard for a drink which was very pleasant too....

My husband and I went here for lunch, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The flowers outside gave a great welcome to us. I had a starter, which was large pawns, and they were excellent. My husband had chicken as a main course, and I had crispy belly pork. The chicken was excellent, but the pork crackling should have been crisp, but...

From our first enquiry, Linda and everyone at the Country Cottage have been so friendly, helpful and accommodating throughout our planning and preparations to the big day. We were able to pretty much choose at every stage how and what we wanted for the day. The place looked beautiful, inside and out and far exceeded our expectations and surprised by...

Our first visit here, courtesy of a Groupon Voucher, on a hot summer Sunday lunchtime. A group of 70 were enjoying lunch in the Function Room and Jenny led us into the smaller dining room and looked after us well. The reasonably priced menu was tempting, and my friends enjoyed the Fish Pie followed by Chocolate Tart. The Chef was...

Dear Barbara Thank you so much for your lovely review, I am so pleased you enjoyed your meal. I just wanted to reassure you over our facilities for disabled visitors. We do have one disabled parking bay in our car park and a ramp is available to allow wheelchair access to our main restaurant. However, as you discovered level access...
