We almost got to stay here. Due to the Yorkshire Game show, rooms were in short supply. We were really excited to book a room at the Nags Head in Pickhill. The food reviews were great and the extensive wine list had a number of bottles that were of interest, so many in fact that I would struggle to consume...

I have stayed at the Nags head a few times over the years. It is such a good location, real country feel yet only a few miles from the A1. Comfortable rooms and a friendly welcome. Good North Yorkshire beer and super quality food for dinner. A quiet location and a large car park, perfect for the business traveler. I...

We called in here as we were heading back from a weekend break in West Tanfield. We all had two courses from the Sunday lunch menu. The ambience within the restaurant was lovely. A nice log burning fire and a welcoming host. The food was also wonderful. Incredibly filling and full of flavour. If we were in the area again...

We arrived on Sunday evening, were given a lovely, clean and bright room with a huge bed. We had a fabulous freshly cooked meal washed down with some Theakston bitter. The hosts were warm and friendly. Everything about our short stay was great. The bathroom was spotless with an amazing shower. The water whooshed out as apposed to a trickle....

Another visit en route between Kent and Argyll, Scotland. Warm, comfortable room with good facilities. Recognised and welcomed by staff. Delicious supper and excellent breakfast. Thoughtful provision of dog towels. Good walking nearby for dogs. Entirely pleasant stay. My grandson loved the experience.

Stayed here last Friday (20th.November) for a catch up with some good friends. Room was spotless (as was the en-suite) and had everything we needed. Bed comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Lovely lounge and restaurant serving excellent food for both dinner and breakfast- a cut above your average b&b. Staff were friendly and helpful and all in...

Country inn in a small village close to Harrogate & Masham. Although the rooms are a bit on the basic side, and out of a 1970's B&B, they are clean and comfortable enough. However, the place is well worth a visit for the restaurant.Excellent menu a cut above most country pub food, well cooked and well presented, surpassed my expectations....

We only booked at the very last minute and were very pleased that Janet was able to change our room ( the last available) to a double. The room had everything we needed and the food and welcome were excellent. Very central for lots of visits. Room 23 was very good and comfortable. On the ground floor. Easy access. All...

The location is central for both the Dales and the Moors if you are intending to visit both as our group was. The rooms are basic in decor and furniture-but very clean and with everything you need for a short break, if you want trendy, not the place for you. A nice traditional bar and the food was very good....
