This place is full of charm and character. People may think the bedrooms are a little old fashioned but are in character with the place and are spotlessly clean. The highlight of our stay was the food. Both the evening meal and the breakfast were cooked to a very high standard and very nicely presented. The waitress at breakfast was...

We found this lovely inn on our way back home today from a weekend stay in Manchester it's a little off the regular routes but well worth the 10 min drive from the motorway. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely we will probably return the next time we are in the area

If you are looking for a relaxing, evening out , avoid this place! Saturday, night, we had organised to meet a couple of friends for dinner. Within minutes of arriving, greeting our friends, and ordering our drinks, we were approached by a very abrupt lady, wanting to take our food order. We hadn't even seen the menu. She continued to...

Having read the excellent reviews on the Nags Head we were in the area, looking at properties, and decided that it would be a welcome break to have lunch at the Nags Head. First impressions appeared good . . , good menu, lots of choice, and clean and comfortable surroundings. However, immediately after were given the lunch menu and deciding...

A smashing place to stay in a small and sleepy village. Some have commented on bedrooms being tired and maybe old fashioned, but they are absolutely fine and definitely fine for the price charged. Spotlessly clean as well. The food here was magnificent and so well presented both at dinner and at breakfast. Real ale was well looked after. The...

This is a real gem in a tiny village, the accommodation is clean and functional, the bar is great in the old style good beer and pleasant company, the food in the restaurant was excellent complimented by a good wine list, breakfast was also a treat, a most enjoyable stay. Will certainly stay here again.

Our first impressions were not great because out bedroom was small and with very tired decor. However things picked up when we came down to dinner! The bar was friendly and local in atmosphere and then we had the best pub grub ever! Such a simple idea to take pub classics but cook them to the very highest standards. The...

Having just returned home have to say this is a gem of a place. The food is excellent, well prepared and remained that way throughout the visit. Accommodation is clean and comfortable. The whole experience was one to be repeated in the not too distant future. Location gave easy access to stunning countryside from the nearby A1(M).

My wife and I stayed at the Nags Head on the 10th-13th May with another four couples, all of us keen MG Midget K series owners. This accommodation was chosen for our base due to its handy location for touring both the Dales and the Moors. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the landlord, Edward. Our room...

Only stayed one night, but it was very comfortable and the food was tasty and wholesome, with the breakfast carefully cooked and presented. A large choice for dinner, even though the venison ran out, and we had a delay of about 30 minutes when ordering. But we weren't in a hurry, and the food was worth waiting for. Professional and...
