We called here for food on two occasions whilst we were taking in some Munro tops. Possibly the friendliest bar we've been in all year. Good crack with the locals at the bar and great wholesome food. We'll be back. 👍

Staying locally to the Strathcarron we popped in for a swift pint (which turned into a couple), the local ale a Golden Cow is definitely recommended and we were lucky enough to meet the brewers who were in there drinking a pint of their own brew. Can't beat locally brewed! Stayed for food and both had the venison burger. So... More

Popped out for an informal family meal on Saturday evening (service 6 - 8 pm). This business has recently changed hands and we wanted to try it out. The decor in the bar remains unchanged since my first visit around 40 years ago and it still therefore has the ambience of a local pub. We ordered two starters and four... More

The hotel is in a good position for exploring the area but the two night stay was disappointing. We had not been warned when booking that our "superior" room was outside and accessed by concrete steps, not good if the weather is bad.and you have walking difficulties. The room itself was a nice size and had a comfortable sofa and good... We stayed in 2 single rooms which were quite spacious, the chairs were a little dilapidated and room set up a little odd. The rooms were clean. The bar meals were good. It has the advantage of being right next to Strathcarron Station on the Kyle to Inverness line.

We called in for lunch. The guy at the bar was less than enthusiastic to see us, or that's certainly how it came across. A question about the menu was responded to with condescending sarcasm. Just outright rude. If we hadn't been so tired after our journey we might have challenged his attitude, but we were hungry & weary after... More

Palpably the worst hotel I ever slept. It should be one star. The room was smelling mould, and there were blood stains in the shower. I informed the reception about the blood stains, but they didn't seem to care about.

Hello again, I see this is another from the group who posted the last bad review. Like I said to them, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. Like I also said to them, you had obviously cut yourself shaving because the cleaner unearthed a heap of bloody towels on your check out. Perhaps waxing might stop these "suspicious" stains... More

Stopped here for one night last Sunday. Arrived a bit wet and tired but all the owners / staff / regulars made me feel most welcomed. Dedicated bike parking , well stocked bar with local micro brew (Strathcarron Red Cow) plus great fish and chips. Yes its rural and a bit basic but that's the point of visiting the Highlands... My friends and I were really looking forward to staying here on our North Coast 500 run. We were aware that this is a hotel which is popular in the motorcycling community, has featured on Motogoloco.com and has been recommended numerous times in RiDE magazine, as the place where their team stays when touring Scotland. We were not expecting 5... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Yes, the hotel is very popular among the biking community and gets a lot of great reviews because of this, and repeat trade! But, like with everything there's always a couple bad eggs. Sometimes people just can't be pleased. A lot of our residents arrive late, and like your group,... More
