We found a 'bargain' break to this hotel and were not disappointed. The staff were attentive to every need, the facilities were excellent and the menu choices and food offered were all excellent. The architecture was magnificent - it really was like staying in a Palace. The grounds were magnificent and there was a good opportunity for walking in the...

We have just had the most wonderful week at this fabulous hotel. It had the wow factor from the moment we walked in! The rooms are extremely comfortable and immaculately clean. The food and wine taken in sumptuous surroundings is of a very high standard. The grounds and spa area - especially the vitality pool, are soothing and luxuriant. We...

We're going home in the morning after 4 nights of feeling so looked after, by lovely staff, in such beautiful surroundings. The building is stunning. It's like a National Trust property, except you get to stay in it. It's quite posh and formal, but because it's completely authentic it doesn't feel at all pretentious. And the staff are very courteous...

Although the hotel is beautiful and has been renovated & maintained extremely well my first impression on entering the foyer was - soul-less. It was three weeks off christmas and there were no decorations in sight and the place lacked any winter warmth. The rooms were perfect and the fixtures are opulent. The staff were courteous and helpful but english...

This Palace and the history behind it is so beautiful. A perfect blend and mix between modern and old, the suites are beautiful, the service outstanding and the spa divine. One of the restaurants has a menu designed by an outstanding chef with some must try dishes. I will return in the spring but this place is a perfect gateway...

Although we travelled in November 2016 and it has taken me some time to review, my comments are the same ! The hotel and grounds are beautiful, the service and staff excellent, the food can rank up there with the best from round the world, the spa immaculate and first rate. We took mountain bikes and explored the grounds which...

This place was amazing. We chose this place to celebrate our 10th year anniversary and we couldn´t have chosen better. It is almost magical, very very romantic. The spa and breakfast were very good as well. The dinner was outstanding, worth every cent. Highly recommend.

I have just returned with a friend from this magnificent hotel. The sumptuous decor, excellent service, delicious gourmet meals and spa with the most professional treatments and relaxations areas, make this hotel a rare find and a jewel in Portugal's crown. We had transfers booked with our package and as soon as we came out of customs, there was Angelo,...

A quick break to celebrate a 60th birthday. The Vidago Palace Hotel was a perfect choice, the food excellent, the staff professional, friendly and efficient. The hotel itself is set in some lovely grounds with some good walking to be had. Our room was spacious, the bathroom sumptuous and bed supremely comfortable. True turn of the 20th century opulence that...
