We arrived on Sunday morning January 12 and our beachfront bungalow was ready. It was amazing. We literally stepped off our deck into soft sand. The beach was stunning. Sunday night we were able to enjoy the BBQ that Palm Grove has. You get a choice of steak or fish along with numerous sides and salads. The food is delicious. After you stuff yourself with the BBQ then there's dessert. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept really well.Yes, there are chickens and the roosters crow but I brought ear plugs and it was fine. My husband didn't wear ear plugs and they didn't bother him either. I truly think Palm Grove has the best beach and the snorkeling was great. We enjoyed the water everyday, even when it rained. The continental breakfast was plenty for me. It includes a variety of fruit, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, toast, juice, etc. If you would like a hot breakfast, you can order eggs, bacon, sausage for what I thought was a reasonable price. We loved everything about Palm Grove and can't wait to come back! All of the staff are friendly and wonderful!

we stayed here early December in a beach bungalow. The views were to die for! the room was huge with plenty of space for 2 large suitcases. Very well equipped kitchen. Breakfast was great with lovely fresh fruit every day. Location was great, short walk to a nearby supermarket and a couple of other restaurants. We didnt use the pool so cant comment on that. would highly recommend this accommodation!

This was our first trip to Rarotonga and we didnt know what to expect. We took my mother in law and dad with us. We stayed at the 3 bedroom bungalow and apart from a bit of mould at the bottom of the shower door, the rest of the place was great. Having access to the BBQ at the house, rather than by the pool, made it for a cheaper holiday that we expected. The ladies came to clean and make the beds every day, but we sent them away most of the time. We didnt need the service every day. Once or twice a week for towel change would have been ok. Breakfast was included daily and there was an assortment of fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, toast, cereal and freshly baked scones. It was quite good. An a la carte menu was also available but we chose to BBQ. The water was crystal clear and you could see loads of fish and starfish without even going in the water. Snorkelling (gear is provided free of charge) off our beach was awesome with lots of fish just yards off the shoreline. The highlight for us snorkling was seeing an eagle ray and a turtle (i could have touched him) right in the bay. We also booked a dive with The Big Fish Dive Centre, although i must admit i prefered the snorkling, but good to keep my dives up. We went to the over the water show 'Te Vara Nui'. The food was excellent and the show lasted about an hour....im still trying to work out how to shake my hips. The bus picked us up with the night going from around 7.00pm and finishing at 10.00pm. We took a couple of trips into the main town. Be aware that the shops are spread out around the whole of the island and closed from luchtime saturday till Monday. The smaller grocery shops, like the one near us, was open 7 days a week. We each purchased the 10 trip bus ticket, and only realised later that more than one person can travel on that ticket. For the trips we did we could have got away with buying just 2. The resort is clean and comfortable and the staff are terrific. They booked our show and they recommended the dive company for us. The location is absolutely amazing and I would go back tomorrow... we are already looking to go back next year. We saw many other resorts as we took the bus around the island, but to us nothing came as good as Palm Grove and its location. There is a shop about 300mtrs up the road where you can buy most food items and a couple of resturant / take away options. I would say that the beach at this resort is one of the best on Rarotonga. There are early rising roosters so you might want to bring ear plugs to block out there crowing. It was one of the most relaxing holidays I have ever been on as the pace on the island is quite slow. Everything is on "island time".
