Sandals runs shuttles from the airport to the resort that is free, but the drivers are not Sandals employees so we tip them. They have a station outside and they group the guests by which side of the resort you booked, because the resort has separate reception areas. Beware of the guys at the airport trying to carry your bags. They only carry the bags 20 feet and then want a tip. I politely decline their help and save $10. On your question of gay friendly, I've never witnessed or heard of any problems. I've seen many gay couples and not thought anything of it. The only unhappy & rude people I've encountered are rare and nit pick everything too much. The majority are happy couples of every type and enjoying paradise, so I hope you have a good time.
