We stayed for one week in one of the four cabanas on the beach. I believe these rooms are smaller than the suites but size isn't everything. It was great to be able to step out of the room onto the private sunbeds or straight into the sea. There is also a covered verandah with rocking chairs and in the morning it was so lovely to make a cup of tea and sit out listening to the soothing sound of the sea lapping up onto the beach. The hotel is set on a hill down to the beach. The building housing reception and the evening restaurant and bar is at the top with commanding views over the bay. At the foot of the hill is situated the accommodation, spa, tennis courts, swimming pool and day time restaurant. As we were there out of the main season when there are fewer guests then the

Beautiful beach and a hillside location, peaceful, relaxing and wonderful staff! Handsome gracious old style polished mahogany filled rooms, the hotel is charming and was the dream location for our son’s wedding. Thank you Sherma, Wesley, Q and all your colleagues for doing such a wonderful job in all aspects for this special day. It was perfection and will always be.

I have just stayed at The Inn for 4 days, during a holiday in Antigua. I have LOVED it. My room is beautiful, very simple but very stylish in a colonial way. The staff are so friendly and helpful that you feel really welcome. The manager spent a long time helping me sort out wifi access in my room. It was an issue with my tablet, not the hotels fault at all, so i really appreciated the assistance. The grounds are beautifully maintained, as is the pool and surroundings and their bit of beach. You have breakfast on the edge of the beach-just lovely. I would love to come back-it's such a peaceful place

I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn May 13 for 6 nights. A perfect spot to relax and get away from it all! My room was lovely and the grounds were beautiful. The staff could not be more helpful and attentive to my every need. Vere the boat captain was always there to assist when I wanted to go over to Nelson's dockyard. Orquidea, Kylie, Tamara provided excellent service in the Terrace restaurant along with delightful breakfast and lunches. Late afternoon cocktails were provided by Ocean , with a lovely smile and good conversation. Dinners were delicious served with an amazing view! Fabio the manager was visible to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. There was a wedding taking place the day after I left, I was disappointed I had to miss it ! Its just what the

The Inn at English Harbour is in a wonderful setting overlooking a beautiful Bay. Unfortunately our experience fell way short of what we expect from a Small Leading Hotel of The World. Our Superior suite although large was in need of refurbishment. Paint was peeling off the woodwork, the bed was comfortable, but the furniture in the lounge area was very uncomfortable. Do not be tempted to book half board, the food served in the Terrace restaurant is appalling. Bland, tasteless food, minuscule portions, and very little choice. Part of a holiday is eating wonderful food, to achieve this we ate out at local restaurants.Fabulous venues wonderful food. Our half board food supplement was refunded. While we were staying at the Inn we had a Wedding inflicted on us. The regular guests

Dear Mr John S This morning we have received and read your review and we (myself and the staff) cannot hide our disappointment in receiving the negative feedback you have posted. We have noticed that all the reviews made by you on Tripadvisor are negative but this is not comforting to us. In fact, the restaurant staff on the beach, the boat captain, the housekeepers and all others have reported that you had an overall good time here with us. Yes we all knew that you were not keen on some of the evening meals and that from having 8 rooms occupied for the first week of your stay to full house on the 16 and 17 of May (not all rooms were from the wedding) may have had an impact on your perception of our service, but still all of us were surprised to hear about it. Please be aware that among the other guests who were not affiliated with the wedding party, we had representatives of tour operators and travel agents from both the UK and USA (that week we had Showcase Antigua organised by the ministry of tourism so many tour operators and travel agents were on the island), and we had excellent feedback from all of them. Also, I have to say that the Wedding guests were very well behaved and after the first impact where they all met here at The Inn there was not any particular moment worth mentioning of any disturbances. You were also well aware that the Reef Restaurant is open 1 night per week for Dinner, this being the night of the 19th May, thus to say that the restaurant was closed to other in house guest and were being pushed aside would be untrue. The restaurant was not closed because of the wedding. Moreover, we spoke a few times and in particular, the day after you arrived outside your room courtyard. I specifically asked you about your room and you told me it was fine as everything else. Had we known about your dissatisfaction with the room at any time during your stay, we would have offered a different room immediately. It is a great room and one of those that is requested by the ever increasing number of repeat guests. Every year we upgrade our rooms and hotel in general, last year all the shower were redone brand new, the year before we upgraded the pool and the beach chairs, and this year other upgrades will be carried out when we close. With regards to the Food, we know it is a matter of personal taste, we recognised you were not happy with some of the evening meals (some) but I hasten to say that the restaurants you find excellent outside have been criticised by other guests in the past. In good faith we did apologize and compensate you for that, but it is really a matter of personal taste. Hope you reconsider you negative feeling on your stay with us. Kind regards, Fabio Giorgi General Manager

A most wonderful setting overlooking English Harbour. It was the venue for fthe wedding of Ben and Steph. The scene for this wedding party was spectacular as it commenced in the afternoon where approximately 90 guests attended from around the world, including people from the UK, USA, Israel, Australia and Nigeria. They gathered with drinks handed out on arrival before the ceremony took place. The beautiful ceremony then followed whilst the wedding party basked in the sunshine and light breeze coming off the Caribbean Sea. There was gorgeous food provided and then the speeches were made on the floodlight area which was also perfect for dancing and listening to the lovely vocalist. Besides the management and staff credit also goes to Ben's Mum, Janet, and Dad, Stephen, whose

This was our second visit, the first back in 2013. The location and bay is superb, and typical of a wonderful Caribbean beachside resort. It was quiet when we were there and we were upgraded to a roomier suite - thank you. The rooms are quite dated though and cluttered with dark furniture. I know it's a colonial style but it does feel very dated. The shuttered doors to the terrace are without glass so if you want to keep the room cool you have to close the shutters, blocking out the wonderful views in the early evening. The A/C system also struggled to keep the room cool. Beach restaurant is great and the food in the main restaurant is of high quality, with the terrace offering wonderful views. Staff, as before, were very friendly and service great.

Dear Emyr55, Thank you for a second stay with us and sharing with us the good experiences you had with our food, friendly staff and great location. The rooms as you mentioned, were designed in colonial style with dark mahogany floors and modern furniture with the concept of being old English, yet feel contemporary. You will be pleased to know, however, that a number of upgrades have been planned for the new season. I am sure you will want to return to experience our revamped style and exceptional amenities. Hope to see you next year, kind regards Fabio Giorgi General Manager

It';s a little odd with reception about 100m above and 500m from the beach - but shuttle service up and down. We had a beachside cabana which was fairly basic in decor ( considering the price ) but an unbeatable location. Wake up, walk between 2 palm trees and straight into the sea. Sensational. We were half board and the food was a high standard - evening meal served on the terrace - great atmosphere. Wine very pricey. It wasn't busy ( April 8 -15 ) so the manager's cocktail party was a bit meagre and the manager, who stayed for 45 minutes, made no effort to mingle or make introductions - what does he do ? Overall, it's the location. Rest of the offering was 4 star rather than 5.

Response from EnglishHarbour, Manager at The Inn At English Harbour
Responded 10 May 2017
Dear druceym2016 Thank you for your comments and I offer my sincere apologies for not meeting you at our management cocktail. Every week we invite our guests to a one hour cocktail “meet and greet” at the Beach Bar with the view of introducing our management team to our guests. For the first 10-15 minutes we all stand at the entrance of the bar and welcome our guests, as soon as a good number has arrived we all mingle and talk. We do try our best to ensure that at least one of our management team reaches all the guests present and we do regret when on the rare occasion we may for some reason not speak to a guest. As you mentioned our Beach Cabanas have an unbeatable location and sensational views. Still they offer all the comforts you would expect from a boutique luxury hotel, i.e a/c, minibar, cable tv, free wi-fi, a mahogany wood bathroom, tea and coffee facilities, etc etc. Regarding the Wine, as you can imagine these are all imported and our prices are on line with all the other establishment on the island. Thank you once again for your feedback and we do look forward to someday welcoming you back at The Inn. Fabio Giorgi General Manager

This area has stunning views over the English Harbour. It's a good location because there are restaurants nearby so we swapped dinner for lunch a couple of times and went out for dinner (we were on half board). We came here just to relax and recharge our batteries and we basically just chilled on the lovely beach most days. Staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. Antigua has 365 beaches and it's embarrassing to admit we only saw the one at the hotel..! But it was exactly the holiday we were hoping for.
