The Hilton experience didn't get off to a good start. We spent 50 minutes standing in a queue waiting to check in no offer of a seat, welcome drink or any attention at all. Sure reception was busy but this happens all the time and is handled so much better everywhere else I’ve stayed. You should be ashamed Hilton. We stayed in the dual aspect suite which was fantastic, very spacious with magnificent views from each of the two balconies, the one off the bedroom even had a day bed to lounge on whilst watching the sunset. I particularly enjoyed the shower in the main bathroom (yes we had a choice of two bathrooms as the suit comes with the main bedroom and what would normally be the room next door) which was huge with a view of the ocean whilst showering. Despite this the room was looking a bit tired, which is a general theme for the hotel, with paint peeling and woodwork in need of repair. There were little touches missing such as no bath robes or slippers in the room, no proper cups for coffee / tea, just paper cups. Large gaps under the doors and round the blinds meant that light ingress was an issue, we ended up putting a bath towel across the bottom of the door to stop this, not something you would expect to have to do in a luxury resort. There were four places to eat in the hotel. The Water's Edge was the pool bar serving a decent selection, I really liked the burgers here. The Rum Stop bar did decent bar type food and happy hour from 8 pm to 9 pm gave access to reasonably priced pitchers of beer. The lighthouse is the main restaurant and where you can have breakfast. Dinner here was Italian themed and I must say all the dishes we had here were very good. Finally, the Grill gave a Bajan inspired menu. This was more formal than the other and you needed to book in advance (note it is closed Sunday and Mondays). The booking process was hit and miss, twice our booking when missing, once with the Concierge and once with the Front Desk but when you did get a table the food was a treat. On top of these, there is a coffee shop in the lobby area where you can get drinks and basic food including some very nice patties. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful although one or two were rude at best and really needed some customer care training In summary, you pay luxury prices here but overall don't get the luxury hotel you are paying for.

Hotel's Favourite
The staff at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful and walking distance to Clarise Beach. The room was very clean with a balcony and ocean view. Dinner at the Hotel restaurant was very tasteful. I will book this hotel again.

This should have been a 5 start review. However, the food has really let the hotel down and knocked off a star. Positives: - great location in Bridgetown and close to amenities (though probably by car) - short drive from the airport (20 mins) - beautiful beach side setting - adjacent to the Pebbles beach, also a beautiful beach, good for swimming with little children, scuba diving/snorkelling with 6 shipwrecks to see, and where you can also see the race horses bathe in the morning (6am ish) - pools are a great size and variety of depths for varying swimming abilities - also a mini paddle pool for kids to splash about in - pools also open until 10pm so a lovely night swim was always an option - spa was lovely with very helpful staff and a good range of treatments - decor and styling was consistent throughout the hotel with attention to fine detail (some people have said it’s dated in their reviews but it just reminded us of an American/Floridian style) - the views from the ocean view rooms were beautiful though the bay view is also beautiful (you’re spoilt for choice either way) - some fantastic singers for the entertainment (though they were not advertised so we didn’t know who they were) and entertainment stopped a bit early at 7pm - some staff were very helpful, lovely, and welcoming - under 5s eat and drink free Negatives: - Food. The food is really the only negative but it completely lets down the whole hotel experience for us - menus in all the restaurants were very limited and often included ingredients that we couldn’t eat - the lack of buffet style or more flexibility in the choices made it nigh impossible for us to eat there day to day - whilst the food for under 5s was free, we really struggled to feed our son with regard to options and timings of food availability - the poor food offering is reflected in the number of take out boxes people were leaving outside their rooms day to day - separately, there were a few people who smoked very close to the pool, which made it quite unpleasant at times. Please move the smoking area further away for the benefit of the majority Overall would recommend the hotel absolutely. However, it could be fantastic if the food offering were better and even with an all inc offering. The location and facilities were otherwise wonderful. If you choose this hotel, do so with the view that dinner and lunch may be bought outside. Don’t expect to be able to eat at the hotel for the duration of the stay.

Service terrible, people didn't even care about the guests, and it is way too expensive hotel. Bar services were even worst, I sat at the bar for about 20 minutes, and the bar tender didn't even look at me, or ask if I wanted a drink. Definitely I'm completely disappointed and I'm never coming back to this hotel

Hotel was excellent to schedule shuttle pick up and transport for us to the airport and to the cruise port. Nice pool area and decent restaurants at the pool and bar area. Rooms were normal Hilton rooms. Clean and up to date.

I had a great time in Hilton Barbados. My stay was nice and the team at the hotel was very friendly. We has a tour booked Coast to Coast and we visited several restaurants in the hotel as well as outside. All was great but I arrived home and tested positive to covid. I am not sure from the plane or the hotel just wanted to let you know.

My wife and I love the Hilton, Barbados and visit up to three times a year! The staff are excellent and extremely professional and it’s so reassuring when they welcome you back, calling you by your first names! The recently appointed general manager, Jacques Monteil has made major strides in his endeavour to update the property and every-time we visit there are new things happening! Daniel is their newly appointed food & beverage director and is a pleasure to meet, so introduce yourselves to him whilst staying at the hotel! You should also say hello to Janique Mason who has recently been promoted to operations director! She’s a delightful person so make a point of saying hello during your stay! The buffet breakfast is good value for money, and lunch by the pool or on the beach is a must! This hotel seems to stand out from the rest and that’s mainly due to the general manager Jacques and his team! The hotel also has the best beach on the island in my humble opinion! Go visit and judge for yourselves.

This hotel has nice rooms, beautiful pool and beach area. However, I find the service of the staff especially in the restaurants and pool area horrendous. Most recently I encountered Jamar who is straight lazy. I have visited this location a few times in the past couple months. The first time I encountered Jamar was in the sports bar located behind the check-in desk. I ordered a cheeseburger in an almost empty restaurant. After waiting about half an hour for my food I ordered a beer which took another 20 minutes for him to bring. Overall waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for my cheeseburger to arrive. While waiting for I asked for a soda to come with my food. Not even a refill was offered after the ridiculously long wait in an empty restaurant. When I asked him if I could get another soda I was told if I could if I wanted to pay for it. I understand if this is restaurant policy, however he knew how long I had waited for my food and couldn’t even do the least which is to give me a “free” soda. My latest encounter with him was at the welcome cart to the hotel. They offer rum punch and regular punch. A lady was setting up when I checked in. The front desk told me I could request one if I went to my room and came back down. I came down in less than an hour and Jamar was working the cart. I asked for a rum punch and he told me it was for guest checking in. I told him I had just checked in and was told I could request a drink when I came back down. He shook his head, looked “put out” by my request (all he has to do is pour the pre-mixed drink into a six-ounce glass). I just walked away in disbelief, but let him know I didn’t appreciate the fact the he wouldn’t give me the drink. He gave me a thumbs up. It’s not that i needed the drink, however it’s a matter of principle. This is the blatant attitude he has towards serving the hotel customers and it is pervasive at the pool bar where I’ve waited 10-15 minutes with no one in front of me while staff walks back and forth as if I am invisible. Many of my co-workers describe the exact same type of experience with food and drink service here. So enjoy the pool area and nice spacious rooms and maybe go elsewhere for you food and drink if possible!
