Casa Mer was a warm and welcoming “home away from home” for my first week in Cuba. Wilfredo (along with his mom and aunt –lucky me to be able to enjoy their company as well!) were welcome relief when I finally arrived after lengthy travel delays. And their hospitality and friendship didn’t stop there. The casa is comfortable and inviting... More

We stayed for a week in Casa Mer and utterly LOVED it. Wilfredo is the warmest host, and he makes the best fruit smoothie in Cuba! We felt at home and enjoyed the lovely veranda and the cheerful company of Yum the dog, as much as we liked to be in the quiet, ample indoor gallery and the tidy and... More

We just spent a few nights at Casa Mer ... and we loved it. Wilfredo is a great host, and the house was very welcoming and comfortable. He offered to make us breakfast for a very reasonable price, and it was always delicious. Much of the fruit came from the trees in the backyard raining down mangos. I'd definitely stay... More

A friend and I stayed in Casa Mer for 4 nights total. Wilfredo is an incredible host and from the moment we arrived he made us feel like friends. The house is absolutely beautiful and located in a lovely area not too far from the centre. The room had a huge double bed and en suite. Every morning Raul and... More

I'm surprised the one review saying customer service is not that good. Wilfredo could not have been any nicer, sincere and helpful. The worker at the house Raul, as well! It is in Vedado, so a quieter area, but 2 blocks from a main avenue where you can grab a $1 taxi to the center of Havana. Personally i think... More

Wifredo and his niece Claudia are lovely helpful people. This has been my 3rd trip to Cuba and my family have stayed with Wifredo on each occasion. The location of the house is about a 10min taxi ride out of Havana (which i prefer being in a slightly quieter neighborhood), within walking distance are many restaurants and little food shops... Looking at the 5-star TripAdvisor average I can't help but think the other reviewers don't have much in Cuba to compare this to. It is, indeed, a decent place, but it's expensive for what it offers and 'customer service' could be a LOT better. The location is indeed quite good (near a very large avenue with lots of colective taxis)... More

This was our first trip to Havana and we reserved two double rooms for one week (we were two couples). There couldn't have been a better choice. The rooms are clean and large, the breakfast is very tasty and the patio is a delight. After all the noise of Habana Vieja, there couldn't have been a better place to rest... More

This Casa is located in a very interesting neighbourhood, Vedado. Havana is a wonderful city to explore and adventure in. Wilfredo's home is a great respite from the city action which is all around you. Thank you Wifredo!!
